Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization has applied to be a community organization, which allows the operations of the Organization to become more systematic and transparent. Since it has become a community organization, its donation receipts are tax-deductible. Also, since the donation amount for each term is 100, most people can afford the donation without causing difficulties to themselves. All over Taiwan, there are collectors or merit fund collection locations; it is also possible to use the postal remittance system to make donations without coming to the headquarters. Doing good has become an act that is convenient and without burdens.

Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization has been established for over 40 years and has a good tradition as well as an excellent reputation. The target of building bridges for good and serving the public is very clear, thus there is great cohesion between members, and few people quit. Organizational division of labor is very intricate, there are no job overlaps resulting in waste of manpower. The Charity Organization does not have religious or interpersonal baggage and pressures, and can fully devote themselves to social service with greatest consideration of public benefit.

Because at this time Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization neither has a qualified architect nor sufficient funds, it cannot hire one to draw standard design blueprints. At this time, the bridge is built while the blueprint is revised. After bridges are finished, the local government cannot provide maintenance because they do not have the blueprint. Old bridges may result in danger to users; this is a bottleneck faced by the Charity Organization.

Currently, volunteers of the Charity Organization are older, mostly over 50 years old. There is a lack of youthful participation, so that the Organization continues to age. Without new blood, there may not be anyone to pass the legacy on to.

The Ministry of Education has written about the Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization in textbooks for elementary schools and junior high schools, so that more people can know about and relate to this Organization; more people in society are willing to provide more resources to Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization. This is an opportunity to strengthen Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization.
Currently, the society prefers the living concept of being close to nature. The extent of life expands to the outskirts more and more. In order to have more convenient transportation, there is an increased demand for bridges in remote areas, thus there are a high number of applications for bridges. The government also continuously seeks help from Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization; this accentuates the importance of Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization.

After the 921 Earthquake, people felt the importance of social support organizations, and participated in them proactively. The officially documented number of people participating in social organizations continues to increase, thus the Charity Organization can use this wave to absorb more volunteers.

Currently, with the M trend, many large corporations have become larger while small corporations become smaller. In order to create social images, corporations have begun to donate to charitable organizations. Various managers have also established foundations to avoid taxes; the Charity Organization can use this wave to obtain even more capital.

Currently, prices are rising; including prices for steel beams and cement, thus increasing the unceasing increase of bridge-building costs, and the river quarries are held by dishonest businessmen, thus the prices cannot stabilize, resulting in financial burdens of Chia-yi City Chia-yi Charity Organization. The technicians with architectural backgrounds or are experienced are getting older; these are urgent problems for bridge-building. If such experts are lost, the good works of bridge-building would have to be terminated.

Economic recessions make many families decrease their expenses. Furthermore, the financial tricksters make society concerned about donating money; the recession has made n impact on the Charity Organization as well.

The number of various charitable organizations continues to increase, and Chia-yi Charity Organization has divided into three organizations. The resources keep being divided as well, and there are some negative news stories about the Organization that we are not happy to see. This results in the confusion between donation for good and in bureaucratic differences. Without a strong central belief, it is difficult for people who have not yet participated to come into contact with the Organization, and it also lacks support from religions and others.
