Make every endeavor to practise charity - 88 year old grandmother

At her late eighties, Grandma Hsie regularly goes to the construction area serving fruit for crew members or for those who came to help.

At the age of 88, her regular visit and service at the construction spot is greatly supported by her children. After all, people of every age can do works of charity.

The interview record:

Q:What is your name

A:My name is Hsie, Sui ji

Q:At what age did you attend the organization?

A:I was then forty and am 88 now. After the lunar new year, I almost can celebrate my 90th  birthday!

Q:Why did you join the organization?

A:I voluntarily joined myself. I encountered a gentleman while doing exercise in the park, he invited me to help the good work of rebuild a bridge. I paid 30 dollars to join the organization, and the money were used to buy nails and wood to construct the bridge

Q:Is it a heaving loading for you to come every week?  

A:Not at all, after joining the organization, I feel myself younger and healthier.

Q:What kind of work did you do?

A:For decades, I helped to move the stone and sand. Since I am getting older right now, I help to serve fruit. The young man next to me, the son of a friend, also joined the organization while he was young.

Q:Does your family ever stop you from coming here?

A:They all encourage me to come and help.

Q:Are they also here today?

A:My children are too busy to come, but my grandson is here.

Q:After joining the organization, what impress you the most?

A:It is a good thing to help the society to build bridges, so that people could travel without danger. The members are very generous, when we are short of money, there are always people willing to help. That kind of selfishness is indeed touching!

Q:Besides coming here, will you also go to the center of the organization to help?

A:I will go and help the administrative work if I were elected cadre.

Q:Is there anything unfamiliar with you about the organization?

A:I’ve participated for long time, and I am very familiar with it.
