On December 11, we arrived at Beipu old street. After taking part of the guided tour, I learned that Beipu old street is a very important place for tea and the family of Chiang because if we didn’t have the tea that Chiang A-hsin and his team made, we wouldn’t have the splendid story of the Beipu old street. I really admired Chiang A-hsin’s perseverance and all the efforts of making the best tea in the world. After the guided tour, I’m deeply moved by all the story, the building and the culture that Beipu Old Street brings to me. It’s hoped that people could have a chance to pay a visit here. It won’t disappoint you!

On 11th December, we arrived at Beipu old street, which is also known as the highest concentration of historical sites in Taiwan . After taking the guided tour, I learned that inside Beipu Citian Temple, all stone pillars have their significance. I really admired Beipu old street because there are 7 historic sites in the short 200-meter in Beipu old street.

After studying Beipu tea history for a semester, I discovered the tea culture is a big culture. There are lots of different kinds of tea. The day I arrived, I felt excited. The food there was delicous and making the tea is a hard process, you have to keep pounding the ingredients. The work was very tiring, but it was worth trying. I like the tour very much, I learned many things from Beipu and I hope to go there again. This tour can let people know about the historic sites in Beipu, and I learned a lot from the tour.

This project has helped me learn not only the history of Bei-pu but also the origin of Lei tea. Most importantly, I can understand the rise and fall of the tea industry in Taiwan. From my own point of view, I think the most interesting part of the guided tour is the Jiang A Xin mansion. Understanding the history of the Jiang A Xin mansion, I knew how hard the Jiang family's offspring had worked to pass on the spirit of Mr.Jiang A Xin and the tradition of the tea as well. I also hope to advocate for more people to learn or enjoy the tea culture and the stories behind the old buildings in Bei-pu through this project.

After this research and field visit, I really admire the spirit of the unremitting efforts of Beipu people. I also learned about the history of Beipu, and the key to the fame of Beipu's ancient and modern monuments. There are 7 historic sites in the street. Beipu people tried hard to bring more people to understand the history and culture of Beipu. I hope that we can all respect every culture for its historical value, and let us protect Beipu culture together.

Through this visit, I discovered that there are many historical stories in Beipu, and I also learned a lot about the difficulties that Beipu has experienced. The most admirable thing is that there are 7 historical sites within 200 meters of Beipu Old Street. There are many very special Beipu cultures. Beipu people hope that by preserving the culture and historical sites of Beipu, more people will know the history of Beipu. It can also let more people know how valuable the place is for the people in Baipu.
