▪History

Zhongshu Hall was built in 1922. Zeng Chengtong, a descendant of Beipu liberal arts scholar Zeng Xuexi during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, built it after he became rich in business. Zhongshu Hall is a small courtyard house with "one hall and two wooden horizontal houses".

When the descendants of the Zeng family emigranted, and the roof collapsed and was damaged severely without maintenance. Luckily, it was bought by Wu Dongsheng, chairman of the Jindufu Cultural and Educational Foundation, and then it was registered as a historical building in Hsinchu County in 2005. Since then, it was awarded by the owner of the subsidy page of the Hakka Committee and raised funds to restore it as the new site of the Jin Guangfu Cultural and Educational Foundation.

▪The Introduction of Building

Birds and flowers: Birds and Flowers refers to the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers. [Bird] is new, because it was broken, so they took it down and replaced it with a new one, which is also written in white (left). [Flower Fragrance] wasn’t broken, so they didn’t replace it with a new one, and it looked older (on the right).

The cat hole is where you can go to other rooms through when the door is closed. The cat hole is very small, because the cats in the past were very thin, not like the fat cats now.
