Pink Oyster Mushrooms –The Outcome of Students’ Cultivation DIY Experience

Introduction

Pink oyster mushrooms is also known as Pleurotus djamor. It contains carotene, which accounts for its pink color. Moreover, it contains fiber, amino acid and iron. Harvesting pink oyster mushrooms when young, they taste like crabs. When they are old, deep-fried them instead. They can be very nice high-fiber food.

Growing Environment

The cultivation place must avoid direct sunlight. The growing temperature has to be modulated betweem 20 to 33 Celsius.

Common Dishes

Pink oyster mushrooms are often made into dishes by plain-fried or made into soup, such as Fried Vegetarian Chicken with Rose Barbecue Sauce Mushrooms and Fried Three Kinds of Mushrooms with Potatoes.

Notes

Introduced from India, pink oyster mushroom is both enjoyable to the eyes and priceless in nutritional value. Customers can bring back home its shiitake bag and see its white hyphae coming out in 7 days. After putting it in a fridge for 24 hours and watering it 3 to 4 times a day, pink oyster mushroom can be harvested and made into dishes. The bag can be reused for over 4 times, with the interval of 10 to 15 days. At last, the content can be reused as fertilizer.
