What is Homosexuality
What is homosexuality?

It means that individuals have a sexual attraction to persons of the same sex and have sex with them.

With the increase appearance of the internet and gay bars, more and more Chinese terms, which are not familiar with non-homo community, have been showing up in the homosexual community.  For instance, in Taiwan, Motss (Member of The Same Sex) usually use these terms on the BBS, a computer system.

In the lesbian community, "Top" or "T" refers to having masculine traits or to being fond of dressing up masculine.("T" is abbreviated from "Tomboy"; however, "Tomboy" doesn’t really mean homosexual.)  By contrast, "Bottom" or "P" refers to lesbians between bottom or top, similar to butch or femme in Western lesbian community.  This term "Bottom" is the opposite of "Top" in the early stage.  Later, roles of bottom have emerged, and bottom usually refers to having feminine traits.  In addition, "Uncle" implies an older top, which originates from 1960.  "Lesi", "Lele" or "lesbian" these terms originates from homonym "lesbian novel "Crocodile’s Diary", written by a Taiwanese novelist Mian-gian Chou, which started to prevail in Taiwan since 1990.
Also, in gay community, there are sets of terms and nouns to use.  For example, in Taiwanese gay culture, the most commonly used term is "C", which is from "sissy" and "Nancy". It refers to a gay having feminine traits. Macho Queen refers to a gay looking masculine and having well-built body. Taiwanese gays are also divided into two groups generally, "Top" which is also called "brother" and "Bottom" which can be called "twink". The differences between top and bottom are not based on now feminine or masculine they are.  It depends or the notion of two roles, protection and dependence.  By and large, the differentiation is unclear and undefined.
