In Japanese Ruling Period, the school buildings were moved from the ancient charity school to the modernized common school. The culture backgrounds were different and the learning contents were different, but it provided more study opportunity for Taiwan children. It had a positive influence on increasing the education. The Lin Family provided the positive power to this matter.

In Japanese Ruling Period, because Taiwan was Japanese colony, Japanese were in fact put down Taiwanese culture and thought. The explanatory plate mentioned that since Japanese Ruling Period, the charity schools were closed and replaced with Japanese common schools and elementary schools. Before the implantation of Taiwanese and Japanese studied together, Taiwanese children could only enter common schools and learn Japanese and living skills.

The courses in common schools were planed in the direction of educating colonial people. The purpose was to make Taiwanese people obeying Japanese people.

We explored the meaning of school expansion. It seemed that it created many obedient people. But before the end of Japanese ruling period, anti-Japanese thoughts were never stopped. The culture and thoughts, national emotions were conveyed secretly in the educational location.

The donation of the Lin Family and expanding common school had increased the opportunity for Taiwan people to accept education and passed down the nationalism. Although with the changing of time, the system of charity school was destroyed, the unselfish donation of the Lin Family and the established of Fangciao common school allowed the culture to extend.
