Daguan Charity School Monument

The monument stated the history of Daguan School. It outlined the importance of local education and talent cultivation. Also, it mentioned that the fighting occurred at that time was because of that lack of education. The nearest school was in Wan Hua, where still had a distance from Banchiao City. It was really inconvenience to go to school. Therefore, the local gentlemen raised money and donated lands to establish Daguan Charity School, which fulfilled the educational ideal. The names of the donors were embedded on the other stone monument.
This monument was set up in Tung Zhi 12 year of Qing Dynasty (1873), 140 years ago.
Chinese people emphasized on education. The Lin Family established Daguan Charity School, which was not to train test machines but to cultivate scholars with qualities based on the essence of education and further change the makings of the children. When education had brought its effort, the society would be more stabilized. The idea of Daguan Charity School was not only the architect that we saw but the everlasting cultural meaning.
