The Funding of Fangciao School monument

 In 1898, Japanese established Fangciao Common School (former Banchiao Elementary School) and used Daguan Charity School as the classrooms. In 1908, the Lin Family made donations as the financial funding for setting up school and built new buildings in the current address of Banchiao Elementary School. “Funding of Fangciao School monument” described the establishing process of the school. In 1995, Ministry of Interior Affairs announced it is the National Third Grade Historical Site. (Refer to the Fangciao History Stroll guiding material.)

 The Funding of Fangciao School monument that we visited is the rebuilt monument, which is placed under layers of protection, surrounded by Cedar trees so we could not enter the monument from the school. We had to enter from the small door on the right of the funding monument. You have to be very careful when entering because it was overlapped with the automatic iron roller door. If you want to take photos, you must pay close attention to the automatic iron roller door to avoid getting hurt.

 The Funding of Fangciao School monument was renovated and separate with tempered glass. The appearance was beautiful. The glass was embedded with complete monument writing and explanation. Very artistic!

 If taken the photo from the street, it would be blocked by the rail of the architecture without having a whole picture. Thus we thought: although the modern architect is beautiful, will it cause a distance from the historical site?

 On the other hand, if The Funding of Fangciao School monument is placed in the open space, it has a great chance to be damaged, which is a threat to the perseverance of the historical site.

 The architect and the perseverance of the historical site was a big subject. As the visitor, we experienced the importance of taking care of the historical site.

 The writing on the monument is fading, so is the history. Only what is described in the monument is waiting for us to understand.
