Good morning, Ms. Wu. We appreciate your kindness of promoting hair donation for cancer patients and donating your own hair to make wigs. Your actions encourage us. So, we would like to ask you some questions...
How did you know hair donation?
Ms. Wu
There is one cancer child in my relatives. He is bareheaded under chemotherapy. His mother bought a wig for him. However, it was not ventilated. When he was under treatment in Changhua Christian Hospital, the registered nurse recommended him Our Home Client Service Center of A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation for a free wig. I was touched by knowing that the wigs were made of hair of donators. Back to school, I tried to have the teachers and students to join hair donation.

We know the activity in school is held by Ms. Wu. Would you please give a brief introduction of it?
Ms. Wu
The first hair donation was held on Christmas Day in 2010. Christmas is a day for gratitude, I had the activity as "Hair Donation at the End of This Year". Afterward, the 100th year anniversary of the Republic of China comes. I had the series of promotion called "The 100th year, the bunch of hair" and held them on the New Year’s Day, Women’s Day, Christmas Day, and after the graduation ceremony. I will constantly promote it.

Is there anything impressed you the most during promotion?
Ms. Wu
Yes. There is one student asking me "Ms. Wu encourages us donate our hair. Why don’t you donate yours to?" In fact, my hair was not long enough. I needed to grow it until 12 inches. I finally donated my hair in Dec. 2011.

If someone wants to donate hair, how can he/she do?
Ms. Wu
They can go directly to Ms. Huang’ workshop, a voluntary hair designer of hair donation, for a free haircut. But, they must make sure that their hair is clean before cutting. Ms. Huang will cut the hair off and tie them to be bunches. They can give the hair bunches to Our Home Client Service Center in person or to the Students’ Affair Dept. in our school.
Ms. Huang came to help every time.

Will Ms. Wu go on making hair donation, when the promotion ends?
Ms. Wu
Whether the promotion goes on in the future or not, I will keep donating. Because I realized that cut hair can be re-used for people in need.
