Urn Wall
"Urn Wall Setting Sun" was selected as one of the eight scenic spots in Lukang
There are two theories about the urn wall.
In the early wealthy Lukang, because of its commercial development, it had frequent exchanges with China. Whenever the ship returned, it would use fir, masonry and Shaoxing wine urns in the cabin to balance the ship.
The second is that if there is a newborn in an ancient family, Shaoxing wine will be buried in the ground.
If the son grows up and becomes an official, he will feast on the guests with Shaoxing wine and call the wine " Champion Red"; if the daughter is called "Daughter Red", it will be used as one of the wedding items.

The "Xie Family Urn Wall" is a classic version of the existing urn walls in Lukang. Xie's ancient house is located on Zhongshan Road（中山路）.
It is a traditional long-street house with a atrium（天井）designed for lighting and ventilation.
The urn wall is the brick wall on both sides of the atrium. The wine urn is used to heighten the wall, and it is also used for decoration.
In the past, because the urn wall was covered by the toilets and dormitories of the Hexing police station, tourists were mistaken to think that the urn wall was only 2 floors.
But now, as long as you walk on the bridge platform of the Hexing Youth Innovation base, you can see the full version of the urn wall.

Banyan Tree and Air-raid shelter
In the atrium between the Hexing police station and Youth Innovation Base, there is an old banyan tree, and under the banyan tree is an air-raid shelter.
Because Taiwan was a Japanese colony during World War II, it became the target of US bombing, so air-raid shelters were built everywhere for people to hide.

"Lukang Sky Patching Project"

The work uses plastic bags, which symbolize the convenience of modern life, to be recycled and turned into woven materials, combined with the beautiful totem of the ancient window flowers of LuKang Yi Building(意樓).
Converting the past “No Seeing Sky Street”(不見天街) in Lukang into “Sky Patching Action”, creating a series of modern window grilles that complement the blue sky and red bricks.

The teachers and students of Lukang junior high school are led by architect HUANG JIN HUA, who walked in the streets and alleys of Lukang, observing the old and new traces and bright colors of the town.
They used photographic splicing to interpret their own vision of the city and build them into colorful lights of Lukang.

The work is reconfigured by combining the Gui (rice cake) model made by master Zheng Yongbin and other composite materials.
It has the auspicious meaning of happy events and rising step by step, showing the taste charm of Lugang's rich traditional cake culture.
