Afterthoughts
Chen,Yu-Jui
Since this semester, we will interview some bird-watching experts, as well as make drafts, research motivations, and research diaries, etc. But I think the process of making drafts is the most difficult, because there are many words to type, and it takes a long time to type in even with speech input. My favorite place after these interviews is the Wild Bird Society of Taipei, because they generously give us bird-watching illustrated handbooks. 108.10.31
I gradually became interested in the project. In this month, the teacher told us to finish the flying paradise as soon as possible, otherwise it would be very busy next month. I could smoothly complete the project's work within the time. I hope I can learn more about bird conservation next month. 108.11.30
We endeavored to finish the last few places in the project. Although there is a lot of homework, if we don’t step up, we can’t complete the project before the winter vacation. And it will be very tired after the winter vacation. So the teachers told us to concentrate in class and not chat in class. 108.12.31

We interviewed many people in the project interview we did this time. And the process was very interesting. I also learned a lot. Although I have to write a text draft and the interview experience after the interview, which is a laborious process, but it is very fulfilling! 108.10.31
I slowly became interested in the project. I saw a large crested owl in outdoor teaching. I liked it very much, but I couldn't take it home to raise it, because it would lose freedom. 108.11.30
The Wild Bird Rescue Lecture is basically about what to do when a wild bird is injured, and what is the cause of the highest bird mortality rate. I never watched birds before, but now I am interested. I learned what we should do when we find an injured bird, and some ways to prevent bird injury. 108.12.31

The bird-watching event allowed us to fully understand the issues concerning birds. I think this is very interesting and gives me a new understanding of birds. Then, we visited some relevant people to learn about the work of bird conservation. Finally, we also did a questionnaire, hoping to learn about the popularity of the bird watching concept among the people. 108.10.31
After November, we mostly watch water birds in bird watching, but I saw great quantities of garbage, which seriously affected the survival of birds, especially in Huajiang Wild Duck Nature Park. This is the first time I realized the importance of environmental protection. I hope people can protect the birds from being harmed. 108.11.30
I found Flying Paradise very interesting, because the works made by other students were great, and I also learned how to use many programs on the scratch website, which also made me feel amazing. I was most impressed by Wulai ’s bird watching, because this was the first time I've seen a bird like a grey-chinned minivet. 108.12.31

From the beginning of the school to the present, we were almost busy interviewing people related to birds. Among them, the most convenient place for me was Daan Forest Park in Taipei City. After the interview, it was a daunting text. Because I not only typed in each word slowly, but also checked if the typed words were correct. Although it was troublesome, we have completed the task. 108.10.31
My bird recognition skills are getting better and better, but I still can’t find those birds that are almost branched or hidden in the environment. I think the tour teacher is very good, because they can say the name of a bird by the sound of birds or the flight of birds. I hope that I can become an expert who knows what bird is at a glance. 108.11.30

We went to Guandu Nature Park for bird watching, and saw a lot of water ducks. Among them, grebes have been diving into the water. I began to think that bird watching was no longer a boring looking for birds, but to guess where the birds would be. After arriving at the bird, I have a sense of accomplishment myself, so we should take good care of the environment, otherwise we will never see those birds again, let us start with littering together! 108.12.31

We participated in many bird watching activities, Daan Forest Park was one of them, in addition to little egret, cattle egret, black-crowned night heron and kingfisher, there were also common birds in the wild such as grey treepie and magpie! I was most impressed by Neigouli, because there were a lot of birds of prey. I learned a lot of birds in these trips, and also traveled to many places, so that I know where to go to see a certain species of bird. 108.10.31
Tianliaoyang is a full day route. But for bird watching, I still followed the Wild Bird Society of Taipei until the last minute. I saw about a total of 76 species of birds in Tianliaoyang, and it was the one I saw the most bird species in all bird watching trips! I once heard the teacher talked about the sedimentation of the riverbed, and now I finally knew that the sedimentation would cause so much damage to the ecology! 108.11.30
There are only a few teals in Huajiang Natural Park. Fortunately, it has been cleaning silt recently, and I look forward to the changes after finishing! Wulai was a place I'm not familiar with. On the same day, there were several grey-chinned minivets, maroon oriole! In addition, the teachers in the emergency center taught us the knowledge of wild bird rescue. The teacher prepared sufficient content. Put the newspapers in the box where the injured bird was placed, and then put the bird into the box after the newspapers are being softened, so as to achieve the effect of warmth, comfort, and avoid injured birds slide around during the transport! 108.12.31

Because of this project, I know the birds better. My dad also said it seemed that because of the project, I could recognize any bird quickly on the road! 108.10.31
Most of the birds we watch outside before were mountain birds. This time we went to Huajiang Wild Duck Nature Park to see water birds. I really felt novel at the time, but I also felt that I really knew a lot of birds because of this project. This is really the most interesting project I have ever done! 108.11.30

Finally, the project is going to come to an end. In fact, I am very reluctant. From the beginning, I didn’t know anything, and now I have learned a lot about birds and learned a lot. The bird-watching equipment has also been upgraded a lot because of this project. 108.12.31

I think every bird-watching event is very interesting and made me know many different birds. I also like bird-watching. My mother also bought a pair of binoculars for me to watch birds with other classmates. 108.10.31
My favorite bird watching place is Huajiang Wild Duck Nature Park, where I saw the African sacred ibis. Its white feathers are in sharp contrast to its black big beak. African sacred ibis is an exotic bird. These Alien birds can disrupt the native food chain, which may make them impossible to survive. 108.11.30

The teacher taught us how to arrange a box to send the injured birds to the Wild Bird Society of Taipei. The box needs to keep the injured bird warm. You can warm the bag or bottle of warm water, and then spread the newspaper or short fiber towel. I hope next time when I encounter injured birds, I can use correct methods to allow those birds to receive treatment, so that injured birds can return to their parents. 108.12.31

I was originally a person afraid of bird at the beginning of the semester. After finishing 1/3 of the project content, I realized that I was only afraid of birds and chickens in the doves and pigeons. I also gradually loved bird watching. The content has changed so much for me! 108.10.31
I think this project is getting more and more interesting. At first, I was a bit bored because I was afraid of birds. But now that I have overcome my psychological fear, and I find it very interesting. Actually, there are a lot of fun in bird watching. Although this project is very hard, but it's worth it.108.11.30
We did the last interview and lecture, and this represented the end of the hardest part of the project, but the hardest part was also the part of most fun, so I was a bit disappointed. This lecture is about the treatment of injured birds. I have learned a lot, for example, how to distinguish injured birds and how to place them. This project has taught me a lot, and I hope to do it again next year.108.12.31
