  1.     October 15, 2018
    • Task: Decide on the topic of the project

    Each of us wrote down a category and topic we were interested in researching. Confucius temple, Shimen Reservoir, Mayor of Taoyuan, and Daxi Dried Bean Curd came to our minds. At the same time, our teachers also provided some ideas to us. After discussing for a while, we finally decided on the local specialty- Daxi Dried Bean Curd to represent our city.

  2.     October 22, 2018
    • Task: Draw a mind map about the project and arrange interviews

    According to the instructions provided by the Cyberfair, we came up with some ideas about the contents we needed on the project. First, we wrote down the ideas and then drew a mind map on a poster. Therefore, we could see the outline of the project. Meanwhile, our teachers assisted us in coordinating the interview and visiting time with the store owners and important individuals.

    • Task: Pick up task and start to search for information

    Each of us picked up a preferred task in order and started to search for information on the Internet. At first, we had no idea what information we needed to look for, so our teachers gave us some help. Audrey was responsible for designing the questionnaire and the question lists of the interview. When she had some problems with the questions, the other teammates also provided ideas to help complete the task.

    • Task: Check the documents for interview

    All the team members had read the questionnaire and the question list to make sure that we agreed on them. Each member had to give out fifty questionnaires. We have three hundred questionnaires in total. We were also assigned some questions to interview the owners of dried bean curd stores and important individuals in Daxi.

  5.     November 9, 2018
    • Task: Interview the dried bean curd stores and important individuals in Daxi

    We visited two famous dried bean curd shop in Daxi, and interviewed the owner of Huang Ri-Xiang and the distributor of Da Fang. We also had a meeting with the chairwoman of the Daxi Cultural Association and the chief of Tien-Shin Village. After the interviews, we started to give out questionnaires trying to find out what the customers and local people think about the Daxi Dried Bean Curd. However, only few people helped us fill out the questionnaire.

  6.     November 12, 2018
    • Task: Write down the content of the recording file (I)

    All of us listened to the recording file to write down the contents about the interview. Most of us didn’t finish the task in class because it was not easy to write down the words immediately, and we had to be patient when listening to the recording file. The contents of all our interviews are important information for our project.

  7.     November 19, 2018
    • Task: Complete the work of the recording file (II)

    We kept working on the task. Finally, we completed the task and handed the document to the teammate who was responsible for putting the contents in order. The contents of all our interviews are important information for our project.

  8.     November 26, 2018
    • Task: Give out questionnaires

    Each teammate had to give out 50 questionnaires in a week. We asked our classmates, family members, friends to fill out the questionnaires. Although we found that it was not that easy as we thought, we still tried our best to complete the task. Some of us made it, but the others didn’t complete the task in time.

    • Task: Had a discussion with our teachers about the task

    We kept gathering information and data for our task. At the same time, we had a discussion with the teachers about the task. After discussion, we added more information and corrected the mistakes we made. Our teachers reminded us to cite the sources we quoted or adapted from to follow the laws of the intellectual property rights

    • Task: Make questionnaire analysis

    Each of us calculated the numbers from each question in the questionnaire. It took us almost one hour to complete the calculation because we have eighteen questions, and every question has several options.

  11.   December 26, 2018
    • Task: Interview our foreign English teacher, Cody

    Michael and Yves interviewed Cody, our English teacher. We also gave the questionnaire to Cody. He is an American. He said that he had never heard of dried bean curd before, and he only had eaten tofu in America. He tasted five flavors of dried bean curds we brought back from Da Fang. He accepted most of the flavors and his favorite was Sa-cha. He is 100% supportive of our project and research, and his wife would also help us fill out the questionnaire.

    • Task: Interview an English teacher, Helena

    Helena came from Australia, but she was born in India. She is an English teacher from a cram school. Audrey gave her questionnaire to fill out first and then interviewed her. She provided her opinions about Daxi Dried Bean Curd.

  13.   January 2, 2019
    • Task: Finish the project narrative

    Each member provided ideas and information to the editors, Mina and Lily, and we finally finished the project narrative. We also started checking their tasks in detail and were ready to make a website.

  14.   January 8, 2019
    • Task: Interview the international volunteer, James

    James came from New Zealand. It was James’ first time coming to Taiwan, and he told us that it was also his first time being an international volunteer. He helped with the questionnaire and was happy to taste the dried bean curd we gave to him. He was a passionate person and he answered all the questions we asked. We had a great interview. He liked the dried bean curd and he wanted to bring some home as gifts for his brother.

  15.   January 15, 2019
    • Task: Start making a website

    We edited the photos we took during the interviews, numbered them and put them on the webpage. At first, we had no idea how to make a website. Thanks to Teacher Chang, he helped us with the website and taught us how to build it up.

  16.   February 11, 2019
    • Task: Upload and feedback

    We continued uploading our works to the website for the Taiwan Schoolnet Cyberfair. At the same time, we also wrote the feedback and afterthoughts about the contest.

  17.   February 18, 2019
    • Task: Final check and translate articles

    We did the final check on the website to see if the information and photos were put in the correct page. After that, we started to translate our project into English for the Global Schoolnet Cyberfair.

  18.   February 25, 2019
    • Task: Translate articles and hand in the translation to the teacher

    We thought it was difficult to translate our articles into English because English is a foreign language to us. We needed our English teacher to help us revise the articles. As soon as we finished one article, we handed it to Teacher Elisa.

  19.   March 7, 2019
    • Task: Finish the translation and start to make the webpage

    Each of us was asked to finish the translation and correct the mistakes or misspellings which the teacher marked. Teacher Elisa helped us fill in the project narrative and other information on GSN. Some of us started to make the webpage, and some still worked on the translation.

  20.   March 14, 2019
    • Task: Build the website

    We built the website and uploaded our works individually. We collaborated with one another and solved problems together.

  21.   March 19, 2019
    • Task: Final check

    We did the final check on the website to see if the information and photos were put on the correct page. We were proud of ourselves when we finally accomplished the task-promoting Daxi Dried Bean Curd on the GSN Cyberfair.
