After we did some preliminary researches on Fude Temple on Dianzai Street, we visited the temple and interviewed the staff and locals living nearby to learn more about stories and changes of this historical treasure hidden in the alley of Yonghe.

Preparation

Design Interview Questions

Before visiting the temple, we designed interview questions for Mr. Zhang at school. We finalized the questions after rounds of discussions, and we also sent them via email to Mr. Zhang. We hope to learn more about the past, present, and future of Fude Temple on Dianzai Street.

Interview Rehearsal

Since this was our first formal interview, our teachers were really particular about everything from greeting, interviewing, to closing the interview. We also went over where the team would stand when interviewing Mr. Zhang, and how to pose when taking pictures. We practiced over and over to ensure our professionalism so Mr. Zhang would be more willing to tell us more about Fude Temple on Dianzai Street.

Getting Ready

The day prior to the interview, we made sure the camera and video recorders were fully charged. We also made sure our team tags, interview questions, surveys, and authorization letters were also ready to go.
