The origin of Marshal Chen Temple

There are many temples in Xiju, most of them are the branches of other temples, only the Marshal Chen temple is an ancestral temple, and it is the pride of Xiju, so to speak. Marshal Chen's full name is Chen Tang Ming, he was from Changle City. According to the legend, he was impartial. But he was chased because he reported the crime of bad officer. He brought his sister escaped from their hometown. Unexpectedly, he was hunted down by the navy. He did not want to surrender so he jumped into the sea, and his body floated to Xiju Island. Fishermen made a wish to him, "If I could return with lots of fish, I will build a temple for you." And it came true! The following day, fishermen took his body to the location where the Marshal Chen Temple is and could not move anymore, so they buried him and built a temple for him at that place, and it was conferred a title as "Mighty Marshal Chen Temple."
