From 1996 to nowadays, from bleak farm villages to increasingly international economic industrialized zones (optoelectronics industries, biotechnology industries, green energy industries…), the growth of Tainan Science Park happened in front of all our eyes in simply twenty short years. Behind the scenes, lie groups of hardworking people; besides the companies and industries, let us take a look at the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau, and get a more complete overview of the Science Park's development over recent years.

Then & Now: The Bureau

On July 1, 1993, the 2,388th executive meeting of the Executive Yuan approved an Economic Revitalization Project in which the establishment of a Science Park in southern Taiwan was proposed. The STSP Development Plan (which covered the Phase I Site of the Tainan Science Park) by National Science Council was approved by the Executive Yuan in May 1995 to mark the beginning of southern Taiwan's high-tech development. In 2000, with the economy booming, over 80% of the industrial land available for the Phase I Site of the Tainan Science Park was leased out, and requests for more industrial land continued to pour in. Thus, three years later, in 2003, the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau was then officially established.

Known as the headquarters of the Southern Taiwan Science Park, its Administration Bureau is stationed directly across PARK17 (the shopping center), and near the National Museum of Prehistory – Nanke Division (expected to finish construction at the end of 2016), and is located on 22 Section 3 Nanke Road Xinshi District, Tainan. The divisions of the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau will be further listed below, but due to the multitude of divisions, their functions will only be briefly listed. That day , we were very lucky , commissioner as our narrator .Nanke's history can be traced back 6500 years ago , near the Tainan Science Park was still a endless ocean,after stacked, became Now . 5,000 years ago, the first one of Nanke grow rice also keep a dog , 400 years ago, one pair Han Chinese couple in the Nanke , appeared the people 's burial tomb , the park 10 years ago Taiwan's first output one side of the 12-inch wafers.

In recent years, Nanke focus on promoting positive: green building, biotechnology ... Nanke change was something everyone saw.Nanke production and the most representative of the park that is colorful and diverse forms of public art, such as: deer, Taiwan's first dog, spring, autumn, painting, and other electrical boxes,of which, the park has a lot of deer, I think you should think that we were wrong word. No, not of the Nanke public art really has a lot of deer, when in Siraya culture, Nanke had deers, also unexpected is: currently Nanke is trying to foster the fireflies, deer, perhaps soon, you can also in the midst of science and technology, see it sparkle at night! Nanke's progress and growth , we saw, Authority contributed , maybe us won't understand , but this interview , I saw the spirit of Nanke , the young people were came back, the story of yellow ribbon , a symbol of the arrival of wandering.

The development of the Southern Taiwan Science Park has not been hindered by obstacles in the past twenty years, and instead has been continually improving and innovating. It has evolved from merely a Science Park to a colossal paradise involving green energy, culture, art, history, and so much more. Nowadays, the Science Park has even become a tourist spot, perfect for a family outing. All that we know is that the Science Park will never stop expanding and enhancing, and maybe, just maybe, in twenty years, it will again restore and revolutionize the country, alongside us teens, who will have become the heroes of our generation. Cultivating Southern Taiwan and establishing our place globally, my dear friends, is our vision. Go “Nanke”!

The Southern Taiwan Science Park envisions to become an Asian high-tech industrial and talent center that will foster growth among Park enterprises, create opportunities beyond employment, and inspire youths to join in and contribute to a greater cause.

The Southern Taiwan Science Park believes it will incorporate the unique regional characteristics of Southern Taiwan to promote environmental protection, green building techniques, culture and art and to make the STSP a green Science Park offering “green production, comfortable life, and diversified ecology.”

The Southern Taiwan Science Park nowadays, with the renovation of historical culture, public art, attracts many visitors to come take a look and experience it all. In between the metropolitan, lies a lake with an angled curve as the sunlight hits it. That angle not only represents the Science Park's individuality, aesthetics, future, but also an inexorable, magical growth that's waiting around the corner, for ones that seek, ones that explore, and ones that will discover.
