Maybe you have questioned, how can a school be a tourist attraction? Honestly, we were also contemplating on whether or not can a school be one? Slowly, as we got more familiar with the school, we found out that it is the first EEWH school in Taiwan. Perhaps you will have a different viewpoint of NNKIEH after understanding about this area.

From past to today's NNKIEH

Our school, located in Southern Taiwan Science Park, provides a G1-G12 education.It was founded to provide an excellent education for the children of the employees of the Southern Taiwan Science Park and to establish an education foundation for the development of the science park and the local community. In1997, Nanke Junior High School was established with Dr. Kuang Ming Huang as the director. Mr. Da Yong Guo and Mr. Kun Ho Fang became the first and second principals of the school.

In 1998, Nanke Elementary School was founded with Mr.Chang Dao Lu as its director and principal. In 2006, after the high school and the elementary school merged, Dr. Hsu Chang Tai took over as the first principal of the newly formed school. Dr. Kuan Tsai Lin is the current principal. With over 2,359 students and 205 staff, our school consists of 12 classes in the senior high department, 22 classes in the junior high department, 42 classes in the elementary department, and 12 classes in the bilingual department. The school is working on creative teaching methods to become a top international school that establishes a firm foundation in the humanities featuring a magnet program in science.

Our school emphasis on 'international', 'technology', 'creativity', 'character', and 'humanities'. There is also a bilingual department in our school which trains our presentation skills.

NNKIEH's Special Programs

With Nanke Experimental High School's vision as Taiwan’s most excellent government-sponsored international school, we aim to develop students'creativity and originality, in order to establish an educational foundation within Southern Taiwan Science Park and to develop Taiwan's technology into the international realm.

In order to reach this vision, our school hires outstanding and passionate teachers year after year, drafting project-based and theme-based curriculums. Our school implements Project-based Learning (PBL) and complements this with the school facilities, combining the resources of the STSP and the society, in order to encourage and guide our students in using technology to study the surroundings and undertake research of the different sciences,technologies, and humanities. We also aim to strengthen the students' foreign language abilities to facilitate students'  interaction with people from other countries. Since 2012, the school has been running.

G1-G12 education textbooks are about green technology, NNKIEH became the school of carrieded out green energy scientific exploration program . Deep systematic teaching, relevant teaching materials, teaching aids and works effectively to support green technology teaching, practiced making Research and study exchanges, conduct special studies of solar, wind, biomass energy, hydrogen energy, hydropower. Combined with nartural resources, popularize green scientific and technological knowledge, and take advantage of the science park green industry and green technology-related, equipment let the teachers and students learned new knowledge, the knowledge of green technology down roots.

In addition the green building, used solar power, wind power generation systems,water treatment systems , ecological pool rainwater recycling system, circulatory system.Using the Diamond Green Building advantages, build eight major ecological education schoolyard . NNKIEH offered a large area of green environment, constitute a rich biosphere.

NNKIEH 's green building achievements, NNKIEH is the country's first real diamond green building schools, was awarded the Diamond Mark of green building, green building awarded the Interior excellent prize, as a model for domestic green building campus. Until 104 years the cumulative number of visitors visit the green building has more than 2,500 people.

NNKIEH's Environment

The campus occupies 10.2 hectares of land. The modern construction of the building recognizes the importance of environmental friendliness. The senior high school campus, constructed in 2010, has received two supreme green building awards; the first school awarded such a honor. This campus has provided us an energy saving, environmentally enriching learning atmosphere. Each of the buildings is designed to allow the application of educational theories.

The elementary campus implements character education wording, “品 ping” as its joint learning areas. Students in the high school and bilingual department attend classes of subject-specialized rooms; this allows teachers to use subject-specific equipment and visual aids to facilitate learning.

There are two libraries within school; each year the school will increase the collection of books and work toward building a digital library as a school media and information center. The school has an international conference room, projected-based learning laboratories, and innovative manufacturing units in providing proper locations for all sorts of activities, conferences, and science research projects. The school provides comfortable purpose-built sports location such as a 400m tracking field, a multiple-purpose gymnasium, and a tennis court. The student dormitory provides comfortable and convenient living quarters for senior high school students.

The school has two public art installations “embrace the future” and “giant’s pollen” which were created by famous artists, ChunChun Lai and Ing Dong Zeng. Their interesting design and meaningful creations fully represent the goals and objectives of the school. In addition, these art designs enrich the campus with a greater aesthetic sense.

Under the hard work of teachers and students, language, music, art, clubs, began to show progress. They have achieved great performance in the categories of the following competitions: chinese, math and physics, science, art, sport, information, and others. They have also accomplished many international, citywide, and worldwide achievements. Based on our own experiences, there is a diversity of clubs due to different interests of the students, creating a more balanced personality. The school also hosts international weeks and english competitions to improve students' english abilities. The school would also host different ball competitions to enhance team work and train the students physically. There would also be science lectures to make knowledge of science more vigor. Every summer, there would be an international event that give students a chance to interact with music, culture, and language.

Till this year, 2015, it is the 10th year of NNKIEH which went through a lot of adversities and became a dazzling school. 10 years, NNKIEH had became a well know school throughout Taiwan.

According to " Did you know that National Nanke International Experimental High School this school?"Nearly 95% of respondents understood, which there were 63% of the people is very clear that.

According to " Did you know NNKIEH is real Construction and Planning Agency approved the country's first "diamond green building 'school?  " Nearly 48 % of respondents didn't understend, which there were 10 % of the people is very unclear that .
