Hosted by Bamboo Curtain Studio, assisted by our school, "Plum Tree Creek Eco-Camp" is a cross school summer camp that everyone can join. By the camp, students can learn the history, culture and ecology of Plum Tree Creek. Held on 2nd and 3rd of August, 2013, not only local teachers but cultural history scholar, butterfly ecology specialists, wetland experts, environmental specialists, bird experts, and a group of volunteers were all participated for students to learn about the Creek so as to get close to it and love it. Opening by teacher Wu Chun-He from Gui-Zhu Studio. He is the founder of Bamboo Curtain Studio and the scholar who studies local culture. He told the historical background, circumstances, beauty and sadness of Plum Tree Creek. Let students realized what factors make the river died. Chen Jian-Xing, the science teacher of Zhuwei Elementary School has been studies the ecology system in Plum Tree Creek for many years. He led the students to do ecological surveys, turned it into scientific research and published on Science Fairs. So that everyone can share and learn the ecological system, pollution and the impact of a river to the environment. Chen Jiang-He, wetland expert, explained the animals and plants in estuarine wetland ecology and in rivers. Told students the impact of river deterioration will do in the biology system. For them to not only learned the biology of rivers but the importance of it.

Lin Po-Chang, insect expert and eco teacher of community college. He led the activities for students to learn the ecology, to observed insects and to recognize the species of insects by their appearance. Led students walk and learn how to observe the insects at the same time. The vivid course make all the students enjoyed in the world of insects a lot.

He Yi-Xian, from Institute of Natural Resource Management, National Taipei University. He is now a section chief of Guandu Nature Park. He taught students about bird ecology, habitat characteristics of different birds, bird species and its correlation of distribution and the streams, how to tell the species by its appearance and tweets. Students had learned a lot and could briefly know the distribution of the birds by the lesson.

Chen Jian-Zhi, the director of Plum Tree Creek protecting alliance. He talked about the impact of polluted environment, the reasons of the pollution and how people should face this problem. Proposed the solution which is participate in the environmental works. Let students understand that maintaining the environment around us is a responsibility belongs to all of us.
