Interviewing
the old residents, experts and the masses has helped us
a lot in understanding the ecological, historical and
cultural development of the community. We interviewed
Bamboo Curtain Studio in Zhuwei, which has depth
research in Plum Tree Creek. We interviewed the old
residents to understand the changes and connections
between Plum Tree Cree and the community at that time.
Interviewed the eco experts helped us to learn the
ecology and species of Plum Tree Creek. Interviewed the
chief of the village to understand the historical
stories and solve some of our questions. Last but not
least, we had an interview and discussion with the
students at Department of Journalism, Chinese Culture
University, to share the experience and reflection of
study the Plum Tree Creek.
We
interviewed Miss Lee Xiao Wen from the Bamboo Curtain
Studio. The studio has hold lots of activities about
Plum Tree Creek, breakfast around the creek,
exhibitions, resident artist and theatre. Water is the
element which is indispensable and could cross the
border. So "Connecting the broken land with
water" is one of their vision. Hoping to arouse the
attention of our land. For the old resident, we
interviewed Chen Chang-Yao, the chairman of the Parent
Association of Zhuwei Senior High. Growing up beside the
midstream of Plum Tree Creek, he's not only the one who
understands environment of Plum Tree Creek but also an
expert of history and culture. He told the story of Plum
Tree Creek in the old time and the experiences with the
water of himself. He also lead us to observe the local
eco and plants and use them to play some games. For the
ecological expert, we interviewed Lin Po-Chang, the
secretary-general of Taiwan Insect Ecological
Conservation Association. He dedicated himself into
shooting butterflies and also did a survey of insects in
Plum Tree Creek. Since he understands the species and
there very well, he took us to have a glance and to let
us know the relationships between environment and the
species are very tight.
We
also interviewed the chief of Ping Ding Village, Chang
Tian-Ci, who has been at this spot for more than 20
years. Knowing history background, heritage, changing of
the place, we heard a lot of historical story of Ping
Ding and also the importance of Plum Tree Creek. Last
but not least, we talk to the students from Department
of Journalism of Chinese Culture University to share the
experiences of studying the Plum Tree Creel. The main
purpose of our study is to publish the findings and
promoted environment education positively. The students
of Department of Journalism are studying Plum Tree Creek
to report the relative issue of ecology and historical
vicissitude. |
