Most
aquatic organisms are quite sensitive to the pH changes
in the water. Research shows that fishes will die when
pH is lower than five. Therefore, EPA set the standard
for effluent discharge between pH 6.0~9.0 to maintain
the ecological balance and prevent the impact on
survival of aquatic thereby affecting the food chain
cycle. |
