Changhua County is located on the westside of Taiwan. It used to be the important traffic gate before Taichung City developed.  It was originally named Poasoa, and later named "Changhua" as the meaning of "Empery Manifestation" in Ching Dynasty.  Changhua City is the center of transportation and one of the best missionary places in Taiwan.  There are Chinese temples and churches. Our community is on the block along Zhongcheng Road in Changhua City.  Most of the residents are engaged in trade and industry.

The project aims to understand A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation and help the Foundation fulfill their dreams.  It was founded on the dedicative spirit of a British couple-Mr. and Mrs. Landsborough.  They are great to residents in Changhua.  The best-known story is called "A Skin-Graft With Love" which is about Marjorie Landsborough’s (Mrs. Landsborough) good to a little boy.  The Foundation offers a five-star service in the spirit of love, caution, patience, effort, and consideration.  The Foundation takes care of elders with patience, of cancer patients with consideration, of jobs with caution, of training with effort, of everything with love.  We visited the Landsborough’s Graft With Love Memorial Hall. We interviewed the staff and volunteers working for the Foundation.  We held lectures related to hair donation and dementia.  Finally, we designed questionnaires to evaluate the effect on the promotion.

Our methods include group discussion, field trip, interview, questionnaire, data collection, statistics and so on.

The project aims to understand A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation and help the Foundation fulfill their dreams.  Through the project, we have met with many groups and members in our community.  A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation is one of the important charitable organizations. Their services are for elders, the handicapped, cancer patients and so on. It also works with Changhua County Government and Changhua City Office to provide home service and lunch delivery for the handicapped and elders living alone.  As a member of the community, we know the spirit of the Foundation and the need of minority groups. We hope our classmates join in charitable activities to help the community.

There are 105 computers at three computer classrooms in our school.  Each of the offices and the library is equiped with one to four computers. There is at least one computer placed and connected to the internet in the normal classroom.  We use the internet for proceeding the project and group discussions on school day and holiday.

Problems: It is hard to arrange time to meet.
Solutions: We use the time after class.

It took much time to do the project. Most of us are from different classes.  So, we often felt that there was not enough time for discussion.  To make the project proceed smoothly, we tried to make full use of our winter vacation, morning study period, and spare time after class to carry out the discussion and visits.  We checked our work schedule and wrote reflections on line at home.

To do the project, we visited A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation often.  For meal delivery, the long distance required motors rather than bicycles.  As minors, we asked our parents and teachers to ride us to the destinations.

In order to recognize A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation, we had interviews with CEO of the Foundation, cancer patients, Director of Students’ Affair of Ping He Elementary School, an alumna, voluntary hair designer, and tour guides of the memorial hall.  Each of the interviewees comes from different background.  Besides, we rarely interviewed people before.  It is hard to us to carry out the missions in short time.  To make interviews better, we held pre-interview in context and practiced with each other repeatedly.

Problems: Lacking web pages ability
Solutions: We asked our teachers for assistance.

Web pages making is a course for 6th grade students.  We have not learned it yet.  We asked our teachers to plan the structure and we made illustrations and the content.  We made our final project together.  Besides, we used image editors to edit photos and the situation comedy of hair donation.  Through these, we hope that everyone knows A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation and joins us to help others.
