1. The Begining:

In order to encourage each school to develop individual characteristics and establish new scene of excellent education environment in the new century, the Department of Education of Hualien County Government suggests schools in promoting 1-2 features, and schools in indigenous community can develop proper traditional cultural education and local cultural courses under specific human and geographic conditions. Our school has obtained sounding achievements in promoting activities about traditional indigenous culture education, including traditional dance, traditional instrument, and traditional toxophily. In past three year’s implementation of school courses, lots of teachers are doing research on local culture and develop relevant courses, including hunting culture, ethnic plants, traditional food and knowledge of traditional music instruments, etc. This year’s Course Development Program Report added weaving culture and extended courses of aforementioned activities in school teams, as well as selected senior students and teachers with high commitment to participate in Cyberfair.

After discussed by meetings of school administration and parents, the school would apply for attending Cyberfair in order to upgrade subject exploring capability of the students and motivate professional knowledge of teachers, actively seeking assistance from external resources (NDHU Sunny Club and Hope Agent Development Association). Meanwhile, our school would implement course program (weaving culture) proposed by New Baiyang Cultural Club, accompanied with subject exploring (plant dyeing) course in senior class.
