Sin-hua is a classic agricultural town with the sweet potato as its main product, which also symbolizes Taiwan and the root of this land. In order to shape a sweet potato culture to mobilize and revitalize traditional industries, in 2000 the Village Office began to hold the Sin-hua Sweet Potato Festival. These activities are not only to market the sweet potato culture, but also to combine with other events.

   
 

 

    
 

Contents of the activity

1999 Sin-hua Sweet Potato Festival

The theme of this festival is Ancient flavors, sweet potato emotions. Other than various sweet potato competitions, there are also the traditional events of Oxcart Journey, Cricket Fight, Song-jiang Formation, catching eels, etc. There is also a special green event to improve the environment, where 2,400 trees were planted, making Sin-hua freshly green.

  

Artists use the traditional products for as the topic of their art.

 
 

2000 Sweet Potato Festival
With Lantern Festival, events of Blessed Ten Thousand Lights, Eighteen Jao, industrial activities, and art events are held. There are also cultural performances, photography and drawing competitions, and religious temple events, which combine forces from all parts of society in cooperation and jolly times.

   
 

2001 Sweet Potato Festival
This year, the Sweet Potato Festival is combined with Dragon Boat Festival. Mainly, it was to promote tourism in Sin-hua Hu Tou Pi, so it was combined with County Governor 's Cup for Rowing, poetry readings, and cricket fights.

2003 Sweet Potato Festival
The focus of this event was to link up the scenic spots in Sin-hua, promote leisure trips into farms, fisheries, and ranches. There was the Olive Mountain Hike, Tavokan Music, and bike rides to help people appreciate this most beautiful town.

   
 

2005 Sweet Potato Festival
This year was combined with the National Extreme Sports Competition, which combines the Sweet Potato Festival with trendy leisure activities, which increases the participation of the whole event.

 

All kinds of lanterns, this is one of the features of the Sweet Potato Festival of Sin-hua~ a combination of art and traditions.
