Festival --2

Spring Light Music Festival

With the growth of Yang Kuei Literature in Sin-hua, other than forming local literature museums, Sin-hua also used Yang Kuei as a theme and hold related events every year. Other than the general bustle of activities, these events are also filled with the atmosphere of literature and art. In November of each month, there is a regular Birthday Music Festival for Yang Kuei; in every March there is a Spring Light Music Festival. The main characters of these events are the students of Sin-hua and local clubs. Here, you can see plays, dances, and sign-language songs that have been adapted from Yang Kuei literature, as well as music performances of Taiwanese folk songs and themes on the Yang Kuei spirit. The twice a year events are slowly creating a trend of Renaissance in Sin-hua!

2002 Music Festival to Commemorate Yang Kuei

This is the first music festival in Sin-hua with Yang Kuei as a theme. Performances participants include Song-nien University, Tang Hsin-chang's wood instruments performance, Da-hsin Elementary School, mandolin band, etc. The music performed includes lyrics written by Yang Kuei himself (The Time of Youth), and music written by folk music artists and dedicated to Yang Kuei (Rose, Wild Chrysanthemums in the Fall). The whole performance was full of tenderness; in commemoration of the humanist who was most concerned with farmers, workers, and the weaker groups in society.

2003Music Festival to Commemorate Yang Kuei

The theme this time is The Rose that Cannot be Flattened. The songs played include Taiwanese folksongs, music based on Yang Kuei's novels (Water Buffalo, Mrs. Eh is Getting Married), and songs that describe Yang Kuei's wife, Ms. Yeh Tau (Old Lady Selling Flowers). The performing groups include Song-nien University, Sin-hua Women's Choir, and Sin-hua Wind Instruments Band. Most special of all, some of us were part of the performance! Many of us were part of the Wind Instruments band in Sin-hua Elementary School, so you can find Yen Chen and Tung Kang in the pictures; what a unique performance experience! Also, we never thought that in Junior High, we would be able to report on an event that we participated in before.

We participated in the concert to perform in the primary school .

Spring Light Cannot be Contained is an important work by Yang Kuei. It expresses the fact that even if one is in a bad environment, one can still see the hope of life in a rose under a cement block. Thus, this time, the theme of the Music Festival is Spring Light. They designed the themes of Thoughts on Spring Light, Hope of Spring Light, Spring Light of Taiwan Folk Songs, Spring Light of Taiwan Literature, Endless Spring Light of Peace, which were performed by the Sin-hua Junior High Wind Instruments Class and theater group, Women's Association Choir, Song-nien University, Willow Mandolin Group.
