Visit to the Literature Museum

Yang Kuei Literature Museum has two floors. The first floor generally introduces Yang Kuei, and the second floor exhibits the literature and social activism of Yang Kuei. Every floor has different areas, and in the stairwell there are special designs V on the glass are some classic quotes from Yang Kuei's works. If you want to fully understand or get to know Yang Kuei, the Yang Kuei Literature Museum is definitely a good place.

The life of Yang Kuei

Walking into Yang Kuei Literature Museum, the exhibition window attracts the most attention. It contains some artifacts, allowing you to understand what Yang Kuei was like in his later years at home. You can sort of see some words on the exhibition window - Yang Kuei's autobiography.

After seeing Yang Kuei's autobiography, walk towards the left side of the Literature Museum, and you can see a small exhibition area. This shows traces of Yang Kuei in Sin-hua, such as his home, school, and places he visited as a child. Also, there is a chronology which clearly lists Yang Kuei's life and actions.

If you walk to the right, you can see many photos V these are photos of Yang Kuei with his family. There is his wife Yeh Tau, his children, and grandchildren, all enjoying their time together.

Further into the Literature Museum, you reach the next are. This is the information Yang Kuei left when he was imprisoned on Green Island. There is also the Proclamation of Peace written by Yang Kuei. He joked that this is the highest price for writing V 12 years of prison time for two hundred words. There is also a textbook here - Yang Kuei's writing was placed in a Chinese textbook.

Even farther inside, you can see a small exhibition that includes many photos. These photos are of friends of Yang Kuei, including Lai Ho, Japanese Nyuta Haruhiko, etc. There are also two signature boards in the exhibition area; this is to commemorate the welcome received by Yang Kuei when he visited Japan!

Yang Kuei Works and Achievements

Walk up to the second floor, and you can see a large exhibition lobby that has two parts:

On the right hand are Yang Kuei's literary creations, and the original manuscripts in Japanese. Yang Kuei wrote every piece by hand, and there are some basic introductions that allow you to easily understand his works and the meaning behind them. Aside from the manuscripts, the Literature Museum also shows the pieces written by Yang Kuei in book form.

As for the left side, it exhibits the social activism accomplishments of Yang Kuei. You can easily see the effort Yang Kuei placed in social activism. The exhibit is mainly in pictures, so it is easier to people to look at.
