 Apripona germari (Hope)

The most distinct feature of longhorn beetles is the long antennae, which is usually longer then their own body. Male longhorn beetles have longer antennae then females. They primarily feed on flowers, buds, leaves, and pollens of plants. The larva feed on the stems of the plants.

 Colias erate formosana Shirozu

They are medium sized butterflies, which is 4-5cm wide with their wings spread. The male butterflies are yellow in color where as the female butterflies are white with dark grey scales.

Chinese tiger beetles

They are of bright colors and with 6 large and 2 small white spots. Their compound eyes are active. Although they are only 2 cm in length, they are the largest tiger beetles found in Taiwan. They are found in forests below mid altitude. Adults are found all year round except for winter. They are usually found under the sun at open grounds. They feed on ants and other little crawling insects.

Eurema blanda

They are 4-5 cm wide with their wings spread out. They are found in mid to low altitude mountain ranges. The males suck water on wetlands, and the females lay up to hundred eggs at the same place.

Damselflies

They are found only in very clean waters areas. They are the most colorful dragonflies. The males have metallic shine all over. They lay eggs at the crack of tree trunks or on the rocks. They are usually seen between March to December.
