Location and Coverage:

Estuary of Hong-Mao River, including the north and south
riverside.
Square Measure:

8.5 hectares.
 

 

Condition:

Avicennia marina Vierhs and Kandelia candel Druces found in the north riverside while Kandelia candel Druces in the south. Sin-Fong Wetland is the only mixed mangrove of these two plants.
Problems Encountered:

The construction of iron bridge and bowers cause tremendous damage to mangrove.
 

Bad design on the tourist paths led to the destruction of the nature habitat for the

   plants and animals.

The estuary of Ke-Ya River.
Square Measure:

3000 hectares.
 

 

Condition:

A major stop for migrant birds from Syberia to Australia. It’s known for processing the largest number and breeds of Calling Crabs in Taiwan. That is why the local residents refer to it as “Crab Coast.”
Problems Encountered:

The government plans to build an incinerator in replacement of Nan-Liao Refuse Dump near this wetland. Air pollution may be the major concern in the future.
 

Dilemma between flood control and preservation. County government insists on the

    flood control campigne.
