There are three main performance forms in Beiguan music:
1.Baichang: Also known as "Paichang," is a type of performance in which there is no movement, only singing and playing. This is the most common performance form for junior groups.
2.Chuzhen: Also known as "Zhentou," often appears in processions during religious festivals and parades, performing as a mobile group.
Last time during the Yuanlin City parade, I also participated with Teacher Liu from Changhua Yujing Yuan.
3.Liyuan Dengtai: This is a complete theatrical performance, often staged in front of temples during festivals and celebrations.
We had the rare opportunity to enjoy a Liyuan Dengtai performance at Nan Yao Temple.
