🔎STEAM in Tuku ~ Technology and Craft Learning

  National Science and Technology Museum is the first applied science museum in Taiwan. It collects and researches technological relics, displays technology-related topics, promote science and technology education, and provide people with leisure and lifelong learning. Kaohsiung is Taiwan's industrial center and the heavy industries include China Steel, CSBC, Taiki Industrial Co., CCPC, oil refineries, power plants, etc. Therefore, to match up the local features, the museum displays the application of science and technology. The museum not only makes use of local features and but also promote the cultural atmosphere in the industrial-style community. The task of setting the museum is to research, design and display various scientific and technological topics, explaining the important development of science and technology and its impact on human life.

  The curriculum planning of “STEAM in Tuku-Technology and Craft Learning” includes indigo dyeing, weaving & knitting, arts and information applications with the elements of aesthetics, technology, hometown features and cultural features. Also, our principal, chiefs, teachers and us went to different types of museums and learned knowledge there. We visited the museum and verified our knowledge. So, we must take a visit to National Science and Technology Museum during the STEAM course. We saw the changes that industrial progress has brought to our lives, and the integration of artistic work, which has brought better quality to traditional craftsmanship .
