🔎Teacher learning Community of Tuku Aesthetic Makers

Our school is by the road, but there isn’t any bus stop nearby. Within the school district, the majority are elders and they are mainly involved in agriculture; therefore, we absorb knowledge mainly from our school teachers. However, don’t despise our school! Our principal, chiefs and teachers form “Teacher learning Community of Tuku Aesthetic Makers.” They’ve been positive and hard-working over these years! They’ve tried their best to seek rescources and develop the curriculum and teaching content suitable for aesthetics during the summer vacation and every Wednesday afternoon. In this way, they not only settle our learing levels but also help our families and community obtain more knowledge and become better.

The Tuku Elementary School is a school with around 40 students. Therefore, we learn by "mixed age" most of the time. It’s a little difficult that the curriculum design should be adaptable to all graders in our school. However, our principals, chiefs, and teachers implement the activities of collaborative lesson preparation, open classroom observation, and discussion on completed lessons. They repeat checking the curriculum and promote their teaching quality. Their efforts deserve our admiration! While we interviewed our teachers, they shared with us that the mixed culture combined with Minnan and Hakka is our precious learning advantage. We use the advantages of artistic aesthetics to maximize our learning outcome.
