General Sun`s House

History

The hall was originally the dormitory of the eighth flight wing captain during the reign of Japan. After the government took over Taiwan, General Sun,Li-Ren was sent to Feng-shan as the commander of army training at that time. He took over the military training institutions left by the Japanese and chose this japanese-style dormitory as his residence.

General review

General sun, whose hometown is in Shu-cheng county, An-hui Province, gained international fame during the world war II after fighting against bandits, wars, and securing the state...and so on, form north to south. His records are brilliant, and became prestigeous at home and abroad . He also obtained the title as "the Orient Rommel." The Japanese army respectfully called him "the Chinese military god".

Looking back on the general's life is like looking at the history of China's wars and history over the past century from the Anti-Japanese War to the civil war against the communists, and later his training for Taiwanese soldiers...and etc, each battle General Sun had participated in led the team to establish the most outstanding, unshakable military exploits.

However at the climax of life, General Sun was convicted of the "Pingtung Army Expostulation "incident and regretted it for life History is reflection of time , and time is a fair judge. General Sun`s lifetime career was unfinished and he was framed for 33 years.In 2001, the Supervisory Yuan released the investigation report. At that time, General Sun did not intend to defect. Finally, the Supervisory Yuan officially prove gave General Sun innocent.

The county government of Pingtung cooperated with Qing-Niao bookstore to transform General Sun`s House into a bookstore, which was officially opened on December 28, 2018. In the future , the bookstore is expected to promote the culture and reading atmosphere in Pingtung bookstore through promotion of reading.

When the government tried to transform the place into a bookstore, an older generation of villagers worried that exhibitions and statues of General Sun would be obliterated. As soon as the bookstore opened, some villagers and the media joined the activity called :Looking for the General. The government said at the time that the statue of General Sun and related exhibitions would still be on display on the second floor, and selected books of the bookstore on the first floor would also retain commemorative books about the general. The fans were relieved to hear that news.
