More than ten years passed by, in 2007, the Wus finally could afford to purchase a bigger house. They decorated it and happily moved in. While celebrating their good fortune, they were wondering what to do with the old house. Then, the thought arose simultaneously from Daddy Wu and Mommy Wu-becoming foster family. This was an unfulfilled dream for both of them. “Since the children are all big, why not…” they thought. So they decided to repair the old house and gave it a sacred mission. The next year, after a family conference, with the support of all the members of the family, they decided to provide this house for foster kids.

The Wus went through a series of educations, trainings. and the inspections. Finally, in the beginning of 2009, they received the required certification as a certified foster family. They say,“Happiness when shared is doubled.” Their dream finally came true and this gave everybody in the family indescribable joy and hope

When we asked Mommy Wu about the purpose and function of foster family, she simply said,“It is to offer the second home for the children where they will be cared for, and be loved; it’s a house where they can relax and feel safe.” It was this simple idea,the underpinning value of Mr. and Mrs. Wu that helped them become foster parents.
