The Giant that Defeats the Disease -- the Non-ending Creating Road

 

 

　　In the end of the 1971 , Wang decided to put his work aside to go to north Taiwan to check his health. When knowing that he got throat cancer, he made the decision to take a surgery without hesitation, which shows that he is really a determined artist.

　　The next upcoming month, he couldn’t even make any voice. He realized that life is short. He started to concentrate on the work of self-statue, designing his own grave, completing the sculpture of “Dragon God” and “The God of Land” and planning everything for his death. During those days, the air was gloomy.  An owner  of orchid garden, a friend of Wang, visited him every 2 or 3 days with lively orchid flowers. He encouraged Wang, “You are such a talented artist. It’s a pity for you to stop painting. After all, all pains will be gone at last but the beauty you make will stay.”  Wong then magically recovered from the deadly disease just like the orchid flowers he painted came to life again.

　　Wang said, ”Somehow, the more frustration he confronted, the more daring to create arts he became.” So he picked up his sculpturing tools, going back to his pedestal.

　　Since the surgery left him a little hole on his throat, Wang couldn’t vocalize normally. To overcome the inconvenience, he invented a sounder in order to speak for himself.  To make the sounder more convenient to use, Wang designed all clothes for himself, on which there are a hole to set the sounder, yet all clothes he designed are stylish and unique. Wang is a real designer, because he makes all kinds of art works, including outfits.
