<Self-portrait>
During the early period of self-portrait, Wang used the cut of chunk areas and the sharp streak to combine the different style of cubism and impressionism. These kind of works made a huge impact on the field of Taiwan art field back then. What’s interesting, his high expectation told him to abundant this work. Luckily his son Wen Fong Wang kept the masterpiece. Some copies were saved inside the studio.

A lot of Wang’s work are about the people around him, about 20 paintings themed his wife, children, and family members. The paintings shows the progress of family growth, which also reveals the sentimental side of his. The warmth of the background also shows the tenderness inside of him.

Wang said: “Of all the paintings I have done, none of them were made without the respect or carefulness. I’m not used to such brushwork, that kind of roughness is just like unwashed human body.”
To the conservative society of Taiwan, the work would not be so controversial if it didn’t have the exotic perspectives. Plus, the beauty of women body is irreplaceable, it has always been the source of many artists.
