The Much Anticipated Environmental Art Class!
This year we fourth graders were very lucky, because the National Taiwan Science Education Center worked with us to execute an Environmental Art Course Action Plan. Teachers from the National Taiwan Science Education Center used activities such as Water Bingo, Everything Adds Up, Where Water Comes From, and other activities to help us understand the surroundings we live in through our five senses and our hearts. We also beautified the community.

There were even cameramen videotaping the activities, which made it even more fun. I felt just like a superstar!

I looked forward to the next environmental art class each time because we were learning through interesting yet simple games. Not only were they fun-filled, we learned a wide variety of different facts.

Please let me introduce the process of my inspiration through the following photographs!

Experience Shuangxi River
Visiting Shuangxi River once again, seeing, listening, and paying close attention to the animals and plants

Teachers teaching us about art
We learned that art is creating what we want to express so that everyone can appreciate it

Draw it
Draw the Shuangxi River in our minds

Water Bingo
Many water related questions. If you answer correctly, you can uncover one hole

Team Coordination Game
One person acts as the eyes, one person acts as the mouth. The eyes tell the mouth, and then the mouth tells the third person to create something

Add color to our Shuangxi River

Shuangxi River is different in each person’s mind. Some drew the beauty of Shuangxi River, with many animals. Others drew some pollution too.

Visiting the National Taiwan Science Education Center/The story of water
Rain- water delivered from the sky

Dragon Bone Water Lift
Ancient people were so smart, transporting water this way

Wetland
Wetlands are a favorite habitat for many animals.

Ancient People and Water
What stories our ancestors have with water

How Other People in the World Obtain Water
People who live in different places often obtain water in different ways

Bugs and Water
Many insects’ lives are actually closely tied to water

Water Footprint
Which places have water traveled through

Everything Adds Up-1

The teacher provided us a drawing paper which has a winding river painted on it. We added banks, factories, houses, etc. apart from the area of the river.

Everything Adds Up-2
We drew a lot of the buildings on the drawing paper, and painted them with beautiful colors.

Everything Adds Up-3
Each team got up to share our pieces and infrastructure. However, all of these things created pollution, and the pollution increased the further downstream we got
