Come and see art installations on the riverbank! |
I saw many creative pieces of art by fourth graders. I thought the pieces were very interesting. They used unwanted wood, hemp cloth, plastic bottles and other waste material to create art that beautified the riverside environment. The installations were very pleasing to the eye. In addition to making the riverside more beautiful, these art installations also reminded visitors to protect the river and plant more trees so that the environment improves for all the plants, animals, and people living here!
During my visit, I discovered that there was not a single garbage can to be found along the grassy area from Wenchang Bridge to Shilin Bridge! I worried that those who had to throw away garbage would litter because they could not find any garbage cans. There really should be some garbage cans here. All the flowers by the river were pretty, but I did not know their names. It would be fantastic if there were signs to teach me their beautiful names! I don’t know why, but from Shilin Bridge going downstream, there were no tall trees. This means there’s no shade during summertime. I hope that the little trees by the river grow quickly into big trees so that benches, restrooms, and sinks can be placed under the trees, as well as playground equipment for kids.
