When was A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation organized?

A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation was firstly founded on November 14, 1992.  However, according to the law, it cost 30 million NT dollars as funds to run a legal Foundation. We raised money to up to the standard and registered this Foundation on June 16, 2003.

Why was A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation set up?

About 80 years ago, there was a missionary doctor from England. His name was David Landsborough. He came to Changhua and constituted Changhua Medical Center (currently named Changhua Christian Hospital). What’s more, he talked with his patients fluently in Taiwanese! To cure a little boy’s ulcers on the leg, his wife, Marjorie Landsborough, even gave her skin to the kid. Dr. Landsborough performed this operation. In order to memorize them for their kindness, the Foundation was set up.

Why was A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation named?

Chan Li-Ju, CEO

The name "A Skin-Graft With Love" was given to thank Mrs. Landsborough for donating her skin grafted on a kid who she did not know much. To memorize this, the Foundation was then named "A Skin-Graft With Love".
