Xiao Fang Ru   Name: Xiao Fang Ru Nick names: AMY Birthday: 86.2.5 Constellation: Aquarius Task: Documentation, filling in the progress report Hobby: Painting, Surfing on the internet, Singing, Professional specialty: Painting.   Personal Introduction Hi, everybody! Although I am a little shy, but my good friends know that actually I am very naughty sometime. I also like chatting with my good friends! Though I am very gentle and quiet, I do not spend much time in studying. Therefore, my achievement is not very good! I do not like doing exercise, instead I prefer to sit on the seat writing and painting. I hope I can gain the height in the future thus I will no longer be laughed at! My favorite animal is Rabbit because rabbits are so lovely and quite, which is similar to my personal character. Though our family is producing the socks, I did not pay attention to the socks very much actually. Through this activity, I have a chance to understand the socks more. I also become braver after joined this activity. Actually, we had some difficulties when we did this activity. For example: It is very difficult to look for all the materials; we have to learn how to arrange the materials in order; the deadline is in the corner and we don't have enough time, etc. But we unit everybody's strength together to solve the problem one by one, and finally we finished the web page. Through the activity. I have a deeper understanding of the main industry of my hometown- hosiery industry. I also wish I can become more natural afterwards undergo the experience of this activity!   Gains of Research Participating in 'GlobalSchoolNet ' let me, who did not familiar with socks, have a good opportunity to get closer to socks. Though, my family has a factory producing socks, but I did not understand ' the socks ' at all! Via the activity, I have learnt a lot about socks, further I have a closer relationship with my parents, too. I also know more about my parents' job! All our team members kept learning a lot since the day we joined this team, especially we learned how to work with efficiency and right attitude. Though, we did not do very well in the beginning, but we tried again and again, and later on, we learned how to work with efficiency. Now, we can do in an expert way! We are so proud of ourselves since we finished this web page with hard working. The most important thing is not the award, but the process we have been going through together, and the difficulties we have overcome in teamwork. In addition, participating in the competition also let me have unexpected benefits. I feel I am improved in the aspect of speaking, courage, and writing. My vision is also widened. I still remember I joined this team without knowing what 'GlobalSchoolNet ' is. I even think it's just a piece of cake. 'It is nothing but network ", 'Maybe we just need to produce web page, and then show to the evaluators?' To sum up, without thinking too much, I participated in the competition! And now, my thought was totally wrong. In order to participate in the competition, we need to gather many materials in many aspects and classify the materials. Because we didn't have much time, we have to do these works during our rest time, such as noon break. When the closing day got closer, the busier and more diligent we are. However, I really benefited a lot during this period of time. I had never expected that I could have the chance to represent of the school to join this match before my graduation. I think I might never have this kind of chance afterwards! So, I decided to do an excellent job with my best! Everybody, go, go, go!   Progress Report Date Place Content 97.12.4 English classroom Since it is our first meeting, all the teachers and students are gathered together to discuss the details of visiting " Zh Zu Chang Le - Socks Festival ". We also decided the gathering time and place. Because this was the first visit, everybody was very nervous. We started to discuss after listened to the teachers' explanation. Because 'everything is the first time', everybody was very tense! 97.12.26 Meeting room Today, we assembled to the meeting room to discuss the job definition. The teacher gave us the will to select the job! 'Everybody should select two jobs. There are web pages making, article writing, interviewing, etc.' I chose web pages making and article writing since I just like to do these things. So I was quite satisfied with my own job! 97.12.29 Meeting room After we had a meeting and discussion in the meeting room, the teacher took us to the office to teach us how to surf on the internet. Then he took us to the computer classroom to search for the information. But no matter how we searched at that time, we just could find a little information! We really did not know what materials we could take as reference. 97.12.30 classroom The teacher asked us (Yu Jie and Xue Qing) to think of "the name of our team?” Then he told us we would postpone visit to next week because of the bad weather. He also asked us to search for more information in these days. 98.1.5 Computer classroom Today we kept searching for the information in computer classroom. The teacher asked us to store the materials so that it is easier to arrange and find them afterwards. Though the information in the network is abundant, but we still kept seeing the same information. Maybe we did not know how to search the information. Or, maybe there is not much information regarding socks? 98.1.6 Meeting room Today we were going to visit Hsiaotex Enterprise and the entity shop. First, we discussed and voted for our team's name. At the end, we summarized everybody's suggestion and decided to use "King of Socks Searching" as the name of our team. Then we discussed the questions we wanted to ask during the visiting. Unfortunately, the visit time was the same with my cream school time. But I still arranged some time to participate in the interview. 98.1.19 Seeing and hearing classroom Today we dyed the socks in the watching and listening classroom. Although the process is very simple, I had to try hard to tie the socks because I am very small.And this made my hands ache very much. Hope I could dye a pair of beautiful socks with my efforts. 98.1.21 Classrooms of second class in sixth grade We discussed the production procedure of the socks today. Besides, everybody began to do their own jobs! Jing Ru and I were responsible for the section of "introduction of socks types". This job is to classify and key in the types, names, functions, and photo of socks! But because we did not have enough photos, so we downloaded the photos as ours from the internet. 98.1.22 Classrooms of second class in sixth grade Is there any difference between manufacture procedure of the silk socks and ordinary socks? The teacher also printed "production flow chart" to us for reference! Since Jing Ru and I had to finish the introduction of socks, I asked my father after I got home. My father gave some reference websites to me, so our work was getting much smoother! 98.2.10 School The classroom of first and second class of sixth grade Although we could leave school at 10: 30 today, the teacher wanted us to stay and type the report. Jing Ru and I filled out the progress report first. However, we have not finished yet! We also needed to write personal introduction by Word. I thought I could finish it very fast, but somehow I couldn't write any word today. Maybe I cared too much because this article will be put on the web page. Later, I added the report of what I gained from Chinese New year Auction. At last, I finished my job! And it was nearly 12 o'clock! I was tired and hungry.
