Finally, the Taipei 101 research project has come to an end. Six months
of good times have ended just like the 128-second firework display that
took place at Taipei 101 on New Year¡¦s Eve. It left me a great experience
in my life.
Ms. Wang has taught many school mates to create Cyber Fair projects. However,
we were the youngest among the groups; most of us were not familiar with
computer operations. Thus, our instructor designed a set of simple worksheets
to help us complete our mission. Though I have studied English for many
years, the past 6 months helped me to put my language skill into real
practice as I surveyed foreigners.
The Fantastic 9 had left great impressions on many visitors. The worksheets
were like our summer assignments; however, we had to come up with our
own questions and answer them ourselves. We also had to analyze the results.
Our instructor worried that essays and paintings would be too difficult
for us. Thus she let us produce children¡¦s poetry and paintings on anything
we could think of related to the Taipei 101 building. This approach made
us feel contented.
It took about 9-10 years to build and open Taipei 101, and it¡¦s about
our age. Taipei 101 and we grew up together! This research project offered
us opportunities to become familiar with Taipei 101 and its surroundings.
It also offered us the knowledge that is not written in the textbooks.
I remember during the trip I took with my older brother to Paris, France,
we interviewed many locals there. However, many people have never been
to Taipei nor Taipei 101. We hope our 6 months of effort will allow more
people to know about Taipei 101.
Architect Mr. Chung-Ping Wang said, the world¡¦s tallest building record
of Taipei 101 will be replaced in the near future. However, in our heart,
she will always be our lovely Taipei 101.
