After half year¡¦s learning and hard work, we finally are about to finish this special project about Taipei 101. During this period of time, we did a lot of surveys. We interviewed foreign people from the States, India, Australia, Czech and many other countries and we also talked to many local Taiwanese people who are from different parts of the country. They are mostly friendly and have pretty good impression on Taipei 101. We also had interviews with people from the supermarket, clothing stores, restaurants and many other shops located inside Taipei 101. Most people from the stores in Taipei 101 were willing to share their views with us, but we found we were turned down more often by stores located on the higher floor that sell more expensive items. Overall, we found people from Taipei 101 were nice and items sold in Taipei 101 are more expensive. There are bigger crowds during weekends and holidays and the Food Court is the most popular area inside Taipei 101!

We also did quite a few important interviews with some famous people such as the designer of Taipei 101, Mr. Wang. He showed us on slides the hard work he put on this amazing skyscraper. It has really widened our views and we also came to realize that how much work you need to put into in order to build this building! And we also had interview with the general manager of Taipei 101, Mr. Lin. He told us that during the process he also encountered with many setbacks and problems, but with wisdom, faith and courage, he finally was able to conquer all. We are really thrilled by his determination and hard work that finally made everything possible. Another interesting interview we had was with the chairman of SINO GEOTECHNOLOGY, INC., Mr. Chen. He led a bunch of engineers to do everything he needed to check and confirm before the construction work started. He also taught us what made the Tower of Pisa lean like this!

Finally, we got to talk to the chairwoman of Taipei 101 on the day when the Taipei 101 Climbing Competition was held. Ms. Diana Min-Hsun Chen is not only pretty but also nice and friendly. She revealed, Taipei 101 is a combination of West & East and it also speaks for Modernity and Classicism. We felt she represents the characteristics of Taipei 101. She also mentioned Taipei 101 is a door to the world and told us how she¡¦s going to make Taipei 101 among the finest in the world. Her passion and devotion really impress us and Ms. Chen sure is a role model to all the girls.

I think the most special part in this project was to write poems on our own. In a short time, we learned to use many metaphorical images to describe Taipei 101: a bullet train, a giant lamppost, a rocket, an eight-layer cake, a piece of bamboo, etc. I think we were pretty creative. Meanwhile, we painted Taipei 101; everyone did a great job. We also learned to use computers to work on the project, so now we can use the Internet to get information we need, we can talk on the Internet, and we join in this competition through the Internet! With all the trainings mentioned before, we are more confident of writing, painting, and using computers.

The project is like a magic seed to us. Our teacher planted it in our hearts. As time goes by, the seed grows up as a huge tree and we grow up, too. It¡¦s not easy in the first place; however, by lots of practice, learning, determination and perseverance, we finally see from the top of the tree¡Xour eyes are opened and we can see the whole world.

We also give our thanks to our instructors. We believe every painstaking effort will pay off!
