An elegant life with Calligraphy

Look to the future

As electronic products become a necessity of our everyday life, people are in the edge of addiction to sound and light stimulation, always seeking something different and innovative. The pace of daily life also seems faster and faster. Very few people find interest in appreciating calligraphy works, and most are too lazy to write with a pen, let alone taking time doing calligraphy with a brush and ink. The government has also long been promoting English and local language learning resulting in neglect of calligraphy education in primary and middle schools, the continuous decline of calligraphy culture, and disregard of the meaning and value of calligraphy culture. It is a shame that quite a large population of people in Taiwan nowadays is incapable of doing calligraphy, not to mention appreciating or cherishing this precious cultural asset.

Taiwan is the only country in the world that uses traditional Chinese characters, which logically should put Taiwan in advantage for the development of calligraphy. However, the level of attention given to calligraphy in Taiwan is much lesser than in China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc. It is a pity that the people in Taiwan have gradually lost their cultural roots.
