Wu Chenwei-experience
Taiwan Sugar Refinery Industry - Museum of historical relics | When I first arrived at the museum, I saw the train wheels placed outside the garden as a decoration. When I entered the museum, there were a lot of pictures and relics inside . Mr. Tseng, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide, explained them to us. After his detailed explanation, I had a further understanding of Taiwan's sugar refinery industry. |
Mini-train Park | The mini-train park is located in the main factory. There are sections of railway tracks inside the park. The locomotors of various five-minute cars are placed on the railway tracks instead of running on the tracks. We weren't allowed to get on and experience the feeling of riding on it . What a pity! |
The Great Chimney | The Great Chimney is also in the main factory, which can be said to be the witness of the rise and fall of the sugar industry. Because of the rise of the sugar factory, the Great chimney was established; for the decline of the sugar industry, it has to face the fate of demolition. Although we can no longer see the sight of the chimney standing under the sky, only from the 9 metered base can we imagine how magnificent it used to be at that time. |
Fu-Xin Elementary School | Fuxingguo primary school was originally called "Tai-Tang Second Division school for children of employees ", which was affiliated to the Taiwan Sugar Refinery Industry. It was taken over by Pingtung County government in 1997 and was renamed as Fu-Xing elementary school. When we arrived there, what we saw was a large painting of school buildings, which made the plain walls of buildings lively, and the pictures on the outer walls kept the simplicity for children. |
Taiwan Sugar Refinery Industry - Ice Shop | Hidden in TaiTtang street , Taiwan Sugar ice shop has no eye-catching sign, nor ornate decoration, yet retained a simple feeling. The ice products are divided into two kinds: popsicle and ice cream, the price is not very expensive, and ice products are also very delicious. Next to the ice shop is a steam locomotive. Behind the steam locomotive, there is a train made of cane-box wagons for taking photos. |
The Old Banyan Tree | The Citizen Park has many places to provide people to exercise and space for leisure activities as well .There are many old trees inside , and one of which was planted by by Chiang Kai-shek,the former president of Taiwan. We call it "Thousand-year Banyan Trees". Under its shade we see many chairs where people can chat or play chess. |
Taiwan Sugar Refinery Industry -Supermarket | Taiwan Sugar Supermarket has been a good place for shopping The branch in Pingtung City opened in 2003,which is a complex mall where you can buy all kinds of daily commodities . Because of continuous losses in recent years, in June 2019, all the stores closed , and were taken over by Carrefour. The former Taiwan Sugar Supermarket no loger is gone. What a pity! |
