Residing in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Dr. Chi-Chun Liu is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Taipei Medical College and a practicing dentist, and has founded the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps (TRMPC), and earned him a reputation as “Taiwanese Doctor without Borders.”

Personality

In an interview, Dr. Liu once said, "I don't like being bossed around, so I wanted to practice law or medicine since I was in high school. My parents' education level was relatively high. In that era, Taiwanese people preferred their children to study medicine. So I entered medical school, which accorded with my own interest and my parents’ expectations."
Because of such personality, Dr. Liu never flinches from facing up to trouble while deciding to do something, and does the right thing all along.

Giving back to society
After receiving a bachelor's degree in dentistry, Dr. Liu obtained a license and ran a clinic. As the director and supervisor of the Taipei County Dental Association in 1995, after learning that the medical resources in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County were extremely scarce, he called on the medical profession to go up to the mountain for free medical care. Under his call, on December 17, 1995, more than a dozen medical practitioners went to Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County for a one-day free service, with the number and scope of the services increasing gradually. Eventually, the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps (TRMPC) was established.
