Post-Interview Reflections

Chia-Hsuan Wu
Since joining the CyberFair, we has begun preparing a variety of experiences on the itinerary, including interviews, speeches, and reports and so on, so that we could understand the project theme “TRMPC” more.

The first off-campus trip was to visit the TRMPC and interview Dr. Chi-Chun Liu, the founder of the TRMPC. We had drawn up various questions for the visit to Dr. Liu, and we were ready for this visit. On November 16th, we took the school bus to the TRMPC’s headquarters in Xindian District, New Taipei City. The teacher assigned me to present a gift to Dr. Liu and express our gratitude to him for accepting this interview with pleasure.
Upon entering the gate, Secretary Liao welcomed us warmly with a smile and took us to the conference room. When I saw Dr. Liu entering the room, I gave the gift to him immediately to complete my first task. For the next task, I had to be the first person to ask a question during the interview. Dr. Liu answered our questions so thoroughly and in so much detail. He told us why and how he set up the TRMPC, and what problems he met during the medical action. Dr. Liu spoke with a humorous tone and the content of the interview was touching and interesting.

After interviewing Dr. Liu, we also interviewed Secretary Liao and Director Li. They shared a lot of experiences from working at the TRMPC so that we could know more about the TRMPC. I realized that free medical service is tough work. After the interview, we looked around the headquarters. There was a room storing a lot of drugs to offer patients domestically or abroad.

It was a great experience to visit the TRMPC. I was moved and joyful after visiting. After returning to school, the teachers were very impressed by our performance during the interview today. I believe it will be a fantastic experience when we join the medical action with the TRMPC next time.

Today, we went with the teachers and Director Shi to visit the headquarters of the TRMPC. We boarded the school bus at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. After fifteen minutes’ drive, we finally arrived at the TRMPC.

Upon entering the office of the TRMPC, Secretary Liao took us into the conference room, and then the founder, Dr. Chi-Chun Liu, went to the conference room. Before the interview, Dr. Liu first chatted with us. At first sight, I thought Dr. Liu was a very serious man, but later I discovered that Dr. Liu is a very kind person. It was time for the interview, and I was so excited and nervous. My teammate, Chia-Hsuan Wu, was assigned to ask questions first. Then it was my turn. I was a little bit nervous, so I almost suffered a slip of the tongue. Fortunately, I didn't make any mistakes while interviewing and I also got precious first-hand information about the TRMPC. After Dr. Liu’s interview ended, we also interviewed Secretary Liao and Director Li. Thanks goodness, we had a rest time after the interview; otherwise, we might have been drained.

When the interview was over, Secretary Liao took us on a little tour of the headquarters of the TRMPC, and we also watched the film about the TRMPC. As the school bus could not stay for a long time, we ended the visit and returned to the school. Although we couldn’t watch the whole film, I will use my spare time to watch it over.
After returning to school, we had a simple evaluation meeting in the computer room about this visit. The teachers gave us some compliments and offered some shortcomings to improve soon. The teachers also told us the schedule for the next off-campus trip, and I am looking forward to the next trip.

I had a deeper understanding of the TRMPC after this visit, learning about how Dr. Chi-Chun Liu, and volunteers with the same ambition contribute and provide free medical services to those in need. When I saw Dr. Liu at first sight, I felt that he had a mysterious temperament. Dr. Liu had a ponytail and a full figure with a smiling face with great warmth. In the process of chatting, I felt Dr. Liu was like a teacher, because of his friendly attitude. For the questions we asked, Dr. Liu answered with thoughtful responses. He didn't answer superficially and conducted the interview of in a perfunctory manner. Because of Dr. Liu's rich life experience, there were no dull moments during interviewing. The time flew while interviewing, and we were longing for more time.

After the interview, Secretary Liao took everyone on a tour of the TRMPC’s warehouse and introduced the medicine, foods, etc. that they have to prepare before medical action. We took photos with Dr. Liu and volunteers to capture an unforgettable moment before leaving. I look forward to the time when I have the opportunity to join the TRMPC's medical action, and imitate the spirit of staff who works at the TRMPC, serving more people who need help.

This afternoon, we went to visit the TRMPC’s headquarters in Xindian District, New Taipei City. Upon arriving at the destination, Secretary Liao came out to welcome us and took us to the conference room. Shortly after arriving at the conference room, Dr. Chi-Chun Liu entered. Dr. Liu greeted us first with enthusiasm and simply asked each of us our name. In order to cut our tension, Dr. Liu chatted with us before starting to interview. At the beginning I was a little bit nervous, so I tried to slow down my speech. Finally, I finished the interview.

This visit benefited me a lot. At first, I thought that Dr. Liu would be a very serious man, but I didn't expect him to be very kind. Because of his kindness, the interview went smoothly. When I started to interview Dr. Liu, I was a little bit surprised that he named the TRMPC at the beginning without any other thought. Although everyone was nervous, the interview went well. The people who work at the TRMPC are great because they are selfless and don't ask for anything in return. I was able to visit t the TRMPC today and saw Dr. Liu in person, which made me feel very happy. I hope that in the future, I can contribute to society with my heart like Dr. Liu!

Today was our first time to visit Dr. Chi-Chun Liu. The teachers, the CyberFair team members and the director of school, Mrs. Shi, went to the TRMPC together. Mrs. Shi and Dr. Liu have been good friends for many years.

Upon arriving at the TRMPC, Dr. Liu warmly welcomed us. We introduced our names to begin the interview. During the interview, I felt the selfless love of Dr. Liu. He has not only offered free medical services to people who live in the remote mountains and undeveloped countries, but he has also used plenty of his own money to purchase medical equipment. I was touched by these deeds that Dr. Liu has done. We also interviewed Secretary Liao and Director Li to help us learn more about the TRMPC more. After this visit, it made me realize that it is great to live in Taiwan without any lack of supplies. I am blessed, and I will help those who need help when I have the ability to do so.

After the interview, Secretary Liao took us to see the office and warehouse of the headquarters. There is lots of medicine, medical equipment, pots, pans and many black boxes in the warehouse. This equipment is prepared for medical action. At the beginning, they put medicine and equipment in transparent boxes, but the transparent boxes were fragile. Every time they went abroad for medical action, the boxes would break easily. Therefore, they put the medical equipment into harder black boxes instead of the fragile transparent ones.

In addition to free medical services, the TRMPC also offers reading services. Many people donated a lot of children books and toys to the TRMPC in order to give them to children who live in the remote mountains. The volunteers at the TRMPC work very hard. This interview helped me learn a lot, and also helped me understand the spirit of dedication of the TRMPC and Dr. Liu.

On Friday, November 16th, we went to the TRMPC’s headquarters to visit and interview. We went there by school bus with Director Shi and the teachers of the Information Technology Section. After we arrived, Secretary Liao greeted us enthusiastically and then brought us into the conference room to prepare for the visit. At the beginning of the interview, Dr. Liu first chatted with us and asked our names before starting the interview. After the interview, we took some photos with Dr. Liu. After the interview with Dr. Liu, we continued to visit Director Li and Secretary Liao. After the visit, Secretary Liao took us on a tour of the TRAMPC’s headquarters and explained the preparations required before medical action. After the visit, we went back to the conference room to watch a video about the TRMPC. Time was so limited, so we couldn't watch the whole film, as we had to return to school!

After returning to school, the teacher reminded us to store the recording files and photos. We can use these pieces of data to start writing the reflections, and the audio file verbatim draft... and so on. Today's visit made me realize the hard work that goes into medical action. Although it is very tiring, the volunteers still insist on selfless dedication and unconditional pay. I was so moved. I hope that I can join the medical mission to Wufeng Township in Hsinchu County next time, so that I can learn more about the TRMPC!

Today, the teachers took the CyberFair members to interview Dr. Liu and the staff of the TRMPC. As soon as I arrived at the TRMPC, Secretary Liao warmly welcomed us, and then we began to interview Dr. Liu. At the beginning of the interview, Dr. Liu told us a lot of Chinese idioms that I couldn't understand. It seemed that only the teachers and Dr. Liu could understand the meanings of idioms, and it made me feel a little bit nervous for the following interview! The team members interviewed Dr. Liu in order. When it was my turn, I was ten times more nervous than usual, but I still completed the task! After the visit, we took a tour of the headquarters with Dr. Liu and I saw his heavy motorcycle. Dr. Liu told us that this motorcycle took him around every remote mountain in Taiwan to offer medical services. This deed made me admire Dr. Liu more! Awards for the TRMPC filled four cabinets, so we can only imagine how many places the volunteers of the TRMPC have gone to and how many things they have done.

We also interviewed Secretary Liao and Director Li of the TRMPC. They shared the experiences of medical action. After finishing the interview, it helped us know more about the TRMPC and how many great deeds the TRMPC has done. After the interview, we visited the storage room of the TRMPC. As soon as we walked in this room, we saw piles of medical supplies placed on the shelves, and we also saw many large black boxes on the ground. They must use the black boxes in order to preserve medicine. In addition to medical services, the TRMPC also provides other services, the most popular of which is hair cutting! The volunteers of the TRMPC have to do a lot of stuff and they make a lot of effort! Before the end of the visit, we also watched a film about the TRMPC quickly because we had to be back at school in time. After this visit, we not only understood the hard work of doctors and volunteers in the TRMPC, but also the spirit of helping others more!

Why was it a special day today? Because we went to visit the TRMPC’s headquarters and interviewed the founder, Dr. Liu Chi-Chun, and other volunteers.
The appearance of the headquarters is ordinary, but it is very fancy inside. When we walked in the door, Secretary Liao received us warmly at once and said hello to welcome us. Then Dr. Liu Chi-Chun who we were going to interview finally showed! Dr. Liu was full of enthusiasm and greeted us by handing out business cards, shaking hands and so on.

Then we started to interview. At the beginning, Dr. Liu was just like a teacher and asked us about some Chinese idioms. During the visit, Dr. Liu was very kind, not like the serious man that I thought he was think that I still need to improve my technique while interviewing. During the visit, I saw many medals and books in the display cabinet. It turned out that Dr. Liu worked hard for many years and he was awarded these honors! Dr. Liu works very hard on medical services, and he will keep doing it! I admire the spirit of Dr. Liu's service for people without request.

Today, we went to the TRMPC’s headquarters in Xindian District, New Taipei City to visit Dr. Liu and the volunteers who participate in the TRMPC. After arriving at the headquarters, the kind Secretary Liao came to the door to welcome us. Being secretary of the TRMPC is her first "non-profit" job, and it is also her longest and happiest job.

It was time to interview Dr. Chi-Chun Liu. The first teammate to ask questions was Chia-Hsuan Wu. When it was not my turn, I kept thinking about the questions that I had to ask. When it was my turn to ask Dr. Liu some questions, he answered in detail and kindly. The process of interview made me feel that my nerves were unnecessary. Next, we also interviewed the director and Secretary Liao of the TRMPC.

After the interview, Secretary Liao took us on a tour of the headquarters and told us about the function of each room. We visited the room for storing medical items, and the room for placing toys and books that were donated by others. These materials are given children who inhabit in the remote mountains or in undeveloped countries.
After the tour, we went back to the conference room. Director Liao played a film about the TRMPC’s medical action for us. After watching the film, I realized that I was so blessed to be born in Taiwan with sufficient medical facilities.

This visit helped me learn a lot of knowledge that I couldn't gain in class. After returning to school, we gathered in the computer room, and the teachers reviewed our performance during today’s visit. Next time we will participate in the TRMPC’s medical action in the remote mountains. I hope that my performance will be better next time and that I can also learn more about the TRMPC.
