Special Decorations

It is fascinating when surrounded by the architectures made by granites because of its primitive simplicity. Plaques for avoiding evil spirits or bad luck are also interesting. In the early time, the circumstance was bad, there were some problem of evil or bad luck, and thus, people took some items for preventing those unlucky things. These decorations had an amazing function which could comfort people's mind.

Bagua(八卦) beast tablet, literally "eight trigrams used in Daoist cosmology", amulet and incense bags are the most common items, and all kinds of natural elements are included in the Bagua beast tablet. In the past, almost every family put a tablet on the top of their door. Amulet and incense bags are also for keeping the bad luck away. People can take amulet from temples and put it on the door or window to avoid the evil spirits coming into the house.

People also take incense from temples and wrap it in red paper, write the name of the god that they worship, and then seam with red or yellow cloth. They believe that these can keep them and their families healthy. People also believe that scissors, mirrors, rulers, sieve and bamboo-leaf hats can keep evil spirit away.
