The importance of learning English(This picture is from us)
Still remembered our first visit to the Shin-Da Knife Shop, it was embarrassing.
As we arrived there earlier than Master Kuo, we saw his apprentices preparing for their upcoming work, and of them is Shih-Chuan. He is a Canadian who had been to Japan for some English teaching. And after the short conversation between our teacher and Shih-Chuan, we began to pluck up our courage to start a conversation with him. His handsome appearance and humorous way of talking made all of our teammates crazy, and thus we all were too shy to speak with correct grammar in English, in which eventually made us all embarrassed. Cheng-Yo was the first one to talk with him, due to his English ability and extreme nervousness, he made a mistake by saying “you are so long” to the Canadian instead of asking his stature in an appropriate way. Shih-Chuang was flushed at the moment he heard this, and moments later, we all burst out laughing at such embarrassing moment that we all had encountered. Fortunately, Shih-Chaun had known some Chinese, thus we began to communicate with much more understandings. By the second visit to the shop, Cheng-Yo plucked up his courage again and asked his name, yet again, in a wrong way, in which ended up with a fresh gale of laughter. Since then, we have truly realized the importance of English and we have determined to learn it as much as we could.

The virtue of frugality(This picture is from us)
After Master Kuo’s arrival, we had begun our interview with him. At the moment we started to ask him questions, we have surprisingly found out that there was a hole on his shirt. He said that it was once caused by the iron ash while heating the steel Master Kuo was so frugal that he never thought of throwing away his shabby clothes. We were all very impressed at the good habit and virtue. He even took photos by pull up his shirt. He was very interesting.

The lesson in the words
During the interview, Master Kuo not only talked about his experiences and the hardships in his career, but also taught us an interesting lesson by asking us “There is a place on us that even sand can’t be put in, whereas there is also a place that can never be filled up as well.” After the brainstorming, we still could not figure the meaning left behind. Master Kuo eventually told us that it was the eye that sands can’t be put in, and it’s our mouth that can never be filled with things. He taught us that we have to restrain our own desire and to be open-minded at the same time.

The stone from out of no where(This picture is from us)
After the interview with Master Kuo, he led us to his workshop by giving us a chance to see his treasure, and that’s the “Meteorite”, also known as “the stone of iron”, has the effect of containing the positive energy and can prevent us from the evil. Some clients have also asked Master Kuo to add some of this material into their customize product. And the funniest part of the visit is to lift up this so called “Meteorite” by pretending it was very heavy, because it was not at all.

The real Kung-Fu (Tie-Sha-Chun)
After our arrival to his workshop, he began to show us the process of casting swords as well as the technique. Working under such blazing and humid summer day was exhausting, and we were all very impressed by the perseverance in which Master Kuo upheld. He even showed us his real Kung-Fu by taking up a piece of heated coal with bare hands, it was so cool!

Painless fur cut
Mr. Tung Jia Ren, the apprentice of Mr. Kuo, taught us how to sharpen a knife. First of all, dip the grinding stone into a special anti-rusting liquid, then start grinding knife on the stone. The sharpness of the knife depends on the angle you grind the knife with. And you can only learn this by experience. There is an interesting way to test whether the knife is sharp or not, shave your fur! Our teammates are very willing to try it. Since it’s a unique experience, we all gave it a shot.
Finally, it’s our teacher’s turn. He kept on being a backseat driver while we try grinding the knives, but now, he became the clown among us all. Mistake just kept on coming and coming up. We all laughed so hard at him.
