I’m born to do this. I have to do this. As long as I am still capable of doing this job, it will never end.
Purpose
As a sword maker and a collector, Mr. Kuo spends most of his life and savings on collecting historic relics, in order to pass down the beauty of blacksmithing and the evolution of weapons from generations to generations. Even though Mr. Kuo knows that cultural business won’t make him much money, he still insists to show the public his dream and the beauty of history.
Procedure
After the lift of the martial law, Mr. Kuo brought out his collection of weapons for exhibitions. But not many people agree with his point of view. Weapons are made for killing, and killing people has nothing to be proud
of. The longest exhibition last no more than two weeks, after that it just became shorter and shorter. Having enough, Mr. Kuo decides to have his own museum to exhibit his collection of weapons. Finally, the Museum of Weaponry is established in October 2002. Organizing a museum like this has always been Mr. Kuo’s biggest dream, his wife supports his ideas too. But after spending most of his incomings on collecting weapons, he wife is starting to get a little disappointed. But after realizing that all these culture of blacksmithing and weaponry will soon disappear without her husband’s effort, Mrs. Kuo forgave him. The museum has been verified in 2003 as Regional Culture Museum, this gave people a new place to learn more about weaponry and blacksmithing while some blade enthusiasts can get together.
