Being an apprentice
Brought up in an environment where his parents and the ancestors were all running the iron business, also known as “the Blacksmith”, Master Kuo was already the third master in his family. Instilled patiently by his father while he was young, Master Kuo has already built up the foundation of how to make swords. At the age of 13, he started the career of being a blacksmith. Six decades has passed, and now Master Kuo has already become a national master who is specialized in making swords.
Learn to cast the swords
Master Kuo, who was deeply in loved with learning at a young age, remained the same passion toward learning even after he grown up. With the strong zealous in learning and adequate amount of funds, Master Kuo even went to Japan to improve his skills in casting swords for almost eight years, and he also combined the Chinese and Japanese spirit with his own technique, successfully casting a Pattern laminated steel。Master Kuo even bought a refined machine in Japan, in which cost him at the approx of eight hundred thousand dollars. At that time, he could even bought twenty hectares! Having dedicated all his life in casting swords, Master Kuo has realized that Knife sharpening difficult than playing, which also meant that "its easy to depict the contour, yet it’s hard to carve the inner details graphically, all that needs is the real Kung-Fu", and Master Kuo always reminds himself that practice makes perfect.
Breaking records
Master Kuo has made knives w hich were used to slicing pineapples into pieces, and knives for cutting the green onion as seasonings in Tung-Yi instant noodles. He was also the first blacksmith who made the mechanical knife on his own. Moreover, Master Kuo was dedicated in discovering the technique of Controlled grain, and after countless failures, he succeeded in reappearing the swords of Gan Jiang Mo Ye, and even had it patented. Master Kuo also has made the sword named "the green destiny" taken by the main character Li-Mo-Bai, in the movie called"Crouching Tigers and Hidden Dragons", in which opened the new gate for Taiwan’s artistic martial weapons. It’s not only the glory for Master Kuo, but also the proud for Taiwan as well.
Master Kuo has already casted countless swords, and he has won the grant award in handcrafting. He hoped to pass down the art of these martial weapons by establishing the art museum with other people, displaying these artistic weapons. With the perseverance in realizing his own dreams, Master Kuo has brought the normal knives to a different level, converting them into art craft, and this has helped him reached the statue of “the master of casting artistic swords.
