Inside Scoops From Student Teachers

Profile

I like to perform on stage. After joining the art of shuochang class, I got more opportunities to perform on stage. I have learned lots of shuochang knowledge and performing techniques. Since Ms. Li has been taking us to perform at different venues, I have accumulated quite a lot of experiences, and we have been promoting the art of shuochang in the meantime.I have learned a lot during the process. For example, when I got stuck learning clappers, I practiced like mad so I was able to pass Ms. Li’s test. I am really proud of that. Furthermore, whenever there is an occasion or celebration for me to perform, I would not hesitate to grab the chance. My performances always make my family laugh so hard.

For example, just before Chinese New Year, I performed for my grandfather, who was on his sickbed, and he slowly raised his hands to clap for me. That made me so proud and so happy.

Hand-In-Hand Learning Plan

Teaching tricks

I plan to use what I have learned before and combine that with what Ms. Li had taught me, to teach the Cyberfair team.

Feedback

Students from the Cyberfair team are fast learners. We have prepared lots of lessons for them, and they learned everything well. After seeing their final presentation on stage, we are really pleased with the results.

Suggestions

They still need to pay attention to tongue-rolling sounds, memorizing lines, and continue with the performance regardless of any missing or skipped lines.

Future Expectations

I hope to become a cross talks performer, especially in teasing jokes because I like to talk and make jokes. I want to do so because I want the audience to notice me when I lead in a performance. As a result, even if it is only a short performance for my classmates, I am still happy to do it because when they are happy, I will be happy as well.
