The Contribution to Local Society
Youbike have contributed a lot to the Taipei city, on the environment-protect aspect, besides decrease the amount of carbon dioxide that the vehicles make, it also dredge the crowds of the public transportation, make the short-distance commuter ride the bike. On the humanities aspect, because of the cheap price, Youbike make people develop the habit of exercising, and promote the relationship between you and your classmates, family while riding the bike. The statistics until 2014 March find out that 160 rental stations have been set and 5265 bicycle are operational.
Under the effort between government and citizens, Taipei City was nominated into “City Climate Leadership Awards” by the project “Clean Air-It's your move.” it shows that the air-pollution control has been progressive, and confirmed by the international.
Climate Leadership Awards is a competition held by Siemens and C40, the competition is only available for 58 C40's cities and which have attended the Economist Intelligence Unit and Green CityIndex.

The department of environmental protection represent that the award is just a little thing, reduce the air pollution is the longterm purpose to the government. The most important thing is, Taipei city is gradually transitioning, soon it will no longer be a city filled with air pollution and sickly patient, but to become a healthy city that can be truly a place for " City Biker."
